This Super 8 is located approximately 23 miles from Norfolk International Airport three miles from Busch Gardens and four blocks from William and Mary University. Hotel amenities include an outdoor pool 24-hour front desk service and free parking. Every morning a complimentary continental breakfast is served. Small pets are allowed (fee may apply). All rooms have cable TV.
The hotel was run down and smelled like old cigarette smoke everywhere, the front desk clerks were friendly which was the only bright side of my stay.
Staff, price, location and room. N/A
They mischarged us, put us into a smoking room after we booked & after having told us that it was non smoking. The room was dirty, insufficiently supplied with towels & soap, had no hair conditioner, & was rife with prostitutes & drug addicts hanging over the balcony rails, being loud & playing loud music, late into the night. Worst stay, ever.
We stayed at Super 8 for our trip to visit historical Williamsburg and Yorktown. We only needed a place to sleep at night and so we picked a cheap hotel instead of the fancier ones. … We stayed at Super 8 for our trip to visit historical Williamsburg and Yorktown. I book this room to visit my daughter who attends William and Mary College. I requested ground floor when I made the reservation, they put me on the third floor. I didn't think it would be an issue because they had an elevator, however, the elevator didn't work half the time. if you're looking for a fancy hotel, I would suggest someplace else. If you're looking for functional, and fairly clean,...
When I first checked in, there was this weird guy just hanging out in the lobby, making a lot of noise and trying to chat up the staff, but they got me checked in quickly enough that I didn't have to stay out there with him long. The king sized bed was huge and comfortable, and while I would have preferred a desk, the small table was just fine for sitting and writing. There wasn't much light by...
I rented a room from the top floor. We had issues with the key not working on several occasions, normally it would take about 5-10 minutes to get in, which was frustrating when we had such busy halloween schedule. The king sized bed was very comfortable, and the room's carpet had recently been refurbished. The bed came with 2 pillows and there was one single spare. Overall our stay was nice....
I selected this motel because the photos were nice, and the ratings seemed real, and the price was slightly above the place I usually stayed. The best word I can use for this place was tired. the worn out carpets, the poorly maintained electrical, the stains on pillows and poorly equipped room was way under maintained. The elevator scared us, was under maintained, and even the emergency phone...
I needed a cheap hotel to crash there for a night with my family. Elevator works but appears to be a bit out of date, signs posted asking to only push the button once. The sliding door lock in the room did not work and the outlets/wiring was definitely not up to date. Plan on dining elsewhere for breakfast, with 4 people staying in the room we only got 2 bags of pretzels at checkout. Greatest...
Dirty walls dirty blanket dirty ceiling couldn't wait to leave
Though loudly labeled "non-smoking," it took two seconds to know that some fool had ignored that rule in the previous days or weeks. Took us back to when our parents smoked and made the whole house smell that way. But what do you expect in a tobacco state? Wi-Fi was solid and the beds and shower were very nice. Breakfast was quite basic, with cold cereal and frozen toaster waffles. But the...
We spent five nights at this Super 8 to try to get an economical stay and lengthen our time in Williamsburg. There were a couple other places that were cheaper, but we went for this one because it was near a shopping center with a grocery store, on the bus line, and walking distance to Colonial Williamsburg. The hotel wasn't particularly comfortable, but it was clean (though had some visible...
Surprisingly the rooms were nice and clean. From the outside u can tell its and older building but inside has been maintained. But kept its Williamsburg feel. Not a bad stay for the $$
Cheap at price though not family friendly. I could smells smoking in a Non smoking room which was unpleasant for my kids.
Horrible experience manager on duty when I arrived was intoxicated and my key wasn't working correctly she couldn't fix it so she transferred my room from 1st floor to 3rd floor after I had unpacked the room on the third floor was stifling hot because the air hadn't been running so it took about 3 hours before the room was cool enough to stay in......definitely wont be booking another Super 8.
It was very old and poor condition. I even didn't check in, cancelled and found another hotel further. I prefer to drive extra instead of staying there...
Hotel staff was nice but this building is dilapidated and dirty. I can easily see someone canceling after looking at the condition of this establishment. Needs a total restoration. Bathroom is put together ramshackle style, with band-aid fixes put on things to hide the fact that it is old.Once again, the staff was nice. But the building was just very very sketchy.
The condition of the property as a whole wasn't great...needs some TLC and revamp...but I could tell that they gave us the best rooms they had. Linens were clean. Bed was comfortable. For the cost, it doesn't get any better than that. There were just a few things that kept it from being completely clean, but overall not bad. And certainly not bad for the price. The staff was kind. Breakfast was...
Horrible condition. My kid and I got some sort of b
There is black mold in the bathroom, the room smelled really bad, went to buy febreeze, ice maker did not work on 3rd floor, pop machine was empty, people fighting in parking lot. would not go back their or recommend it to anyone
Run down and dirty hotel. For the price I should have gotten something nicer. Spend an extra $30 for a better hotel for sure. Too bad I can't get a refund for the following weekend that I reserved.
Beds were horribly uncomfortable. breakfast was worse. when I went to front desk to find out where food was clerk was asleep on the floor with a pillow! I didn't even bother waking him up. I just went out to eat
As you can see my overall rating was terrible. Since I can put in what I would like to truly say about this super 8. I will say this I will never stay at this Super 8 motel again. The location was not in the best neighbor hood. We have stayed in several Super 8 in the pass. Never have I felt umcomfortable I was able to sleep well. This area and smell in the hotel was awful. Someone tried to get...
Building was in awful condition, appears to be subsidized housing on the first two floor, elevator looks like a death trap, really bad, but cheap
We opted for lower rate to keep costs down. Room was very, very clean but was obviously "used" - breakfast was basic (fell in love with the little cinnamon pinwheels) - nothing fancy. It was a great place for a rock bottom price and we felt safe in this neighborhood. Recommend to those who want to save a buck.
What can I say, 2nd time staying here cause of location, price, and clean.
I know a lot of other reviews say this hotel sucks a lot, and in some ways it does, but it's not *that* bad. I mean, the elevator was a little scary but I didn't die so I'm satisfied. The room was very clean, though it did smell stale and needed some minor cosmetic repairs. I think the bottom floor must have been the smoking level because you could smell it in the hall walking to the breakfast...
Great location, 3 mins from downtown Williamsburg 6 mins from Busch Gardens. Office was open late at night when we checked in, clean room and bathrooms. Staff was very friendly.
I can't believe that some of the reviews gave this hotel anything more than a 1.This was the dirtiest hotel I have EVER stayed in.There were cigarette butts in the elevator and the carpeting in th...
Cheap.Adequate room. Television worked .Breakfast consisted of oatmeal, frozen waffles, dry cereal, coffee and tea.Microwave and coffeemaker in room.
Arrived at around 5pm after touring Colonial Williamsburg. I was happy to have a place to rest my feet. The manager was nice enough but the grounds were a little sketchy to say the least. We (my girlfriend and I) decided to head to the room, we grabbed our bags from the car and headed inside. The place smelled stale and dusty. We bravely approached the elevator which was extremely dated. No...
Inexpensive, tolerably clean, comfortable, good location.
Bath water was brown. Room felt dirty. Cigarette holes in the blanket.
Terrible rooms with visible molds growing in the bathroom and in wall crevices. My allergies were terrible and we spent as little time as possible there. Only bonus is walkability from WM campus. My advice - spring for a cab ride and stay further away.
Entire hotel was dark dreary dirty and smelled....breakfast rm smelled sour...huge disappointment. ..someone from your corporate office should go just look at the building...take a drive around it...omg....they would freak.
very good just don't expect breakfast in the morning at 8:00 am. pool is out front in view of road .police & fire dept. very close by they go by every night with sirens blarring every night.
For the most part clean. Needs to be updated. Good price. Excellent location. Very friendly staff.
Had a wonderful time and pleasant stay... very close to Busch Gardens and Water Country.
The hallways reek of mold and locker rooms. The carpets are moldy. The toilet and sink were adequately clean but everything else about the bathroom needed scrubbing. There were cobwebs on the ceiling. The door lock batteries had to be replaced before we could enter the room. The outside door to the second floor wasn't locked even after dark. We had to call staff to get the air conditioner...
Its an older hotel. The elevator is in bad shape, I dont think they have a service elevator, and it was really beaten up, so I was a bit worried untill I saw the room which was fine.
I travel cheap all the time. But this place is a nasty, stinking, dump. Its more of a transient residence. It is seriously someplace you'd expect to see in a down town inner city, not Colonial Williamsburg. Last time i stayed there was at the Super 8 on second street. It was very nice, booked this on my phone and thought it was the other hotel.
This hotel is rough. If you enjoy homeless men getting in the pool with you and feeling like you are staying in a rough-downtown area...then this is the place for you. We just stopped for a place to sleep before heading to our vacation destination and figured for $80+ it would be a decent-stay. Rooms were sub-par, the room that breakfast was served in was dirty and was just a converted guest...
For under $50/night, you get what you pay for:Bath Towels are rough on the skin.Had to ask for Facial Tissue. The pool is worn out and looks dirty. The A/C seems to need filter cleaned.Queens beds for O.K.Don't count on the "complimentary breakfast."Had to request for a "Do Not Disturb" sign.Available Iron but no Iron Board.Plenty ice available.Very conveniently located near shops, restaurants,...
First pulling into the parking lot my jaw dropped at the quality of location and exterior. The outside of the building and the parking lot was in crumbles with trash and very few spots to park. Th...
we had a very nice room at this hotel. very clean, free breakfast, we had a microwave and fridge in our room which was great. we were also very close to all the attractions. we didn't use the pool but it looked very clean and well cared for. we would stay here again. nice room for a great price
Very dirty... found dead roach in bathtub of the first room they gave us.They were kind enough to offer us another room.In next room they offered us I cleaned the bathroom floor myself (which was ...
Hotel overall dirty. Ice macines dirtyand broken. Cont breakfast did not eat. I think people actually live in part of hotel
Its no hilton of course but of a quick stay in a nice area its perfect for the price
Please make sure you warn folk if this hotel is being remodeling. Its looks like an apartment building with live in staff. The doors leading to the rooms were left open past dusk (security issue),...
The staff was very friendly but two days in a row, the hotel knew we had 4 people staying in the room. We always had 3 towels in the room and I even asked the room cleaning staff to put 4 towels in our bathroom so that we could shower without any extra leg work. Besides having to go to the front desk and getting an extra towel, that wasn't even a shower towel, staying at the Super 8 was very...
close to all sights including outlet
The stay was subpar compared to other hotels that I have stayed. To start off, I booked the hotel online, and it was one of the cheaper options that fit in my budget. Upon arrival, the lobby smelled of stale smoke, and I was told that pets are not allowed, which is one of the reasons why I booked at that location since I have mild allergies. However, I noticed several patrons walking their pets...
Friendly staff, simple clean hotel
This place is old! Carpet and blankets bad! Breakfast a joke. Outside looked like city housing project!
Everyone was very nice! The room was great for the money! Only thing I could say is that the grounds outside could be kept a little neater. There was trash around the side entrance in the shrubs.
Not bad for the price. The breakfast didn't start till 8am, not good for the early riser. Need some TLC, and the smell is not the best in the elevator and the hallways. But for the $, it was worth it.
Friendly staff, clean rooms, good location, close to many restaurants, grocery store. I will stay there again.
Just for one night stand, not expecting much. You get what you pay.
it is one of the best choices to settle in this hotel
I lived in Williamsburg for several years prior to staying in this hotel. For the price of $30 you cannot beat it. There is no breakfast. The elevator smells like urine. The hot water is inconsistent on the 3rd floor. The a/c did work well. The stairwells were dirty. The bed was clean but the room was dirty in the corners. Make sure to bring your own soap and shampoo. I never turned on the tv....
The room was cheaply priced and located close to W&M college. We stayed at a different Super 8 last time and it was much better. On the plus side, your door is on the inside, not the outside. Hotel is old and outdated. Had room with 2 doubles and beds were the shortest I've seen! Husband is 6' and hung off end of bed. Friendly staff.
outside needs to be spruced up and stairs need to be swept more often
Scary door open on hallway. Did not look clean and did not feel safe. Did not stay. Hallway door left open. Why? Needs some TLC. I found my own hotel that I asked for in the beginning of booking a room.
We only stayed at this hotel because of the location and price. The sheets didn't fit the bed. The bed itself is one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept in. The entire hotel reeked of smoke. The front door that normally requires you to swipe your room key card to get in was broken all night so anyone could have walked in. If you can stay elsewhere, I would.
I thought I had walked into the wrong hotel at first! This hotel was awful It smelled like smoke the min you walked in the door and was filthy. The floors were falling apart and the pool was lime green. I didnt dare even go to look at the breakfast room. I didnt want to even check in and considered leaving the second I arrived. If I did not have someone with me tugging me along I would have....
when walking into the building, you can smell stinky smell. the room was not as clean as i expected. the breakfast was just cereal and jelly.
I spent the weekend with my husband in williamsburg. The motel location is good, very close to the colonial williamsburg. However, the internet is so poor, I could not even open a webpage.
Don't stay here! When we arrived I was not expecting much but more than this. First off there was no soap or shampoo sample packets which I thought that was standard of any hotel. Bed was stiff as a board and did not get any sleep whatsoever. The phone to call room service didn't even work. It was a Radisson hotel phone guess just there for looks?!? The room was non-smoking and smelled like an...
Even though this hotel is only rate as a two star hotel and one cannot expect the Ritz, the pool was unswimmable because of debris, and the Centennial Breakfast was vertically nonexistent. The pool looked as if it had not been cleaned for the season and yet our stay was in mid-July!Also, the general first impression that the guess gets can be greatly improved by replacing the badly worn and...
The hotel was quiet, comfortable, good service and worth the low price, but smelled weird. The price matches the hotel.
Htl smelled like smoke .
Service was very good and freindly, room was clean. The walls must be thin - heard the TV next door late into the night - glad I brought ear plugs. There were also a few trains nearby. Beds were hard.Breakfast was very basic - cold cereal and coffee, some toast - that's it.But if you need a cheap place to stay and be very near Willamsburg/Busch Gardens - this will do the trick.
This hotel was very old and noisy at night. The hallways were hot and so was the elevator. Any hotel that has that many students living there is out of the question for me again. All night long it was noisy on a Sunday night! The bathroom was tiny.
Hotel is not clean, but room is comfortable enough worth for that price. It was difficult to connect the internet that the hotel provides free internet.
Thiis was a last minute trip and was happy to be able to d=find a hotel available, little did I knwo that it was available because no one wanted to stay there. The hotel was so dirty that as we walked in to check in there were roaches all over the place. The "pool" was not only dirty but it looked corroded with bacteria, and that was just from glancing over. Once we got our rooms the...
When we first pulled into the driveway we immediately decided we couldnt stay here just on the appearance of the outside. It looked like something out of the ghetto. Granted we wanted a cheap room for the night the website definatly made this hotel out to be something it isnt. It looks like a pay by the hour hotel and honestly thats exactly the type of people they had there. Our room was filthy...
Our first room had a mini refrigerator that was so full of frost it was unusable. Instead of replacing the frig, we were assigned another room. The second room had a non-working microwave, a toilet that wouldn't fill up and a broken toilet seat.
Trip was business related. I only needed a place to sleep. And that's what I got. Staff was courteous and helpful. Floor coverings were dated, as were bedding and bath accessories. But I got an above average experience for the rate I paid. I would stay again if my needs were the same. But, not with family. My room had fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, iron and board which were nice...
Room was spacious. Breakfast was small. Staff friendly. Bathroom was dirty.
location, cheap and no hassle check-in
The pool was dirty, Coffee maker was not in room until second day. tHE MAIN DOOR AND THE ROOM DOOR LOCK DID NOT WORK PROPERLY. mAID SERVICE LEFT ALOT TO BE DESIRED.
I will never stay at that hotel again. The staff hardly spoke english so I couldn't understand the information that was given to me. The room was very dirty. We found someone's socks in our made up bed. Whenever the air conditioner turned on it would make a horrible sound that kept waking me up.
Not bad for the price. It's right in the middle of all Williamsburg and Jamestown attractions. Very short distance to tons of chain restaraunts. The interior of my room was outdated but otherwise, I felt safe, and had a very good sleep. You get what you pay for so I'm not complaining.
if need some where to cheap this would be it but would not go back based on looks, pic do not describe this hotel
The managers were absolutely wonderful!!! They allowed me to check in early with with 2 young children which made our activities so much easier and more pleasant. They also offered us their OWN discount coupons to Busch Gardens. So courteous and generous and helpful.
I only spent thre days there, and most of the time I was out. I only slept there in the night and woke up in the morning to leave. It was ok t stay there.
Location to Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg/Jamestown was perfect.Price per night was very reasonable. However, the hotel gave the appearance of being in a bad/seedy neighborhood, although it wasn't. The hallways were dimly lit and there was a smell throughout the hotel. None of the exterior doors appeared to lock. There were some stains on the towels and bed linens.Overall, I would...
My husband and I went to Busch Gardens for the weekend of 4/24- 4/26/09. We both agreed that we wanted to stay somewhere inexpensive because we wouldn't be spending much time in the room. All we needed was a shower and a bed. Well needless to say we barely got that. My husband and I are not the complaining/ whiney type either . My husband is a Marine who has lived in 60 year old barracks...
Love the location in relation to the Williamsburg area. Liked the refrigerator. Felt secure with all doors being locked at all times. Right across the street from a great shopping center
We stayed here since we were planning to go to busch gardens which was near by. The room was big, but the carpet was not very clean. The bed was not comfortable. This place is okay for a one night stay if you want to visit busch gardens or williamsburg area. The room had a microwave and fridge which was good.
not bad for the price!!!!
The Super 8 was just what we needed because it was convent for the college which was what we were there to visit. I liked the quiet, friendly atmosphere, because we were looking for rest, which was what we received.
The hotel was very inexpensive and was in a very good area. The people at the front desk were wonderful and very helpful with directions. However, the hotel is not what I would call very clean. The worst thing in the room is that the carpet is very worn. The sheets and everything were fine. While many people have commented on the hardness of the bed, I did find that I slept very well. ...
After reading over the reviews posted by previous guests, I still took a chance staying here. This hotel was absolutely disgusting. Sanitation was an issue. Even after the lack of cleanliness was brought to the manager and general managers attention, nothing was done. This is the type of place where you feel dirty even after you take a shower.
Every inch of this hotel was dirty and messy. It's as simple as that.
Not only was the location safe & convenient to all area attractions but room accomodations were great. The beds were extremely comfortable.
The super 8 was clean with easy and quick check in . The room was very spacious clean
