It seems that with the urban sprawl from NOVA and other places comes the snooty people. I have eaten here twice and both times found the menu to be lacking and the prices too high. Were passing through Mineral (not hard to do) about lunch time and went looking for local spot. Found recommendation for Tavern on the Rail. IT is a little drive outside of Mineral but well worth it. Had Ruben and it was well toasted with plenty of sauerkraut. My wife had the Chicken with Bacon sandwich which she also enjoyed. Potato...

Great atmosphere, good eats and home made desserts to die for. Service was fast and friendly. They keep their menu limited each day so you have to go when they are serving your favorite dish.
You can spend time looking at all of the antiques and decor on the walls and book shelves.

We sat upstairs...limited menu due to a graduation in the County however enough variety and choices for all....prime rib was excellent....pork shank was excellent...good service...train wreck dessert is great and enough for two....again not a lot of bells and whistles...no pun intended....just a great meal and good service in a nice atmosphere

What a surprise to find this charming restaurant, featuring a varied menu and full bar while travelling through the Virginia countryside.
