In Short
Since 1939, this chain hotel has been associated with affordable down-home accommodations. Famous for its customer-comes-first attitude, the property guarantees a relaxing stay....
Although our room was average and this is an older hotel showing signs of wear, it was adequate for our one night stay before flying the next morning. It's small and set back from the road so fairly quiet. Downtown spots are easily accessible and it is very handy to the Phoenix airport. My request upon booking, for a main...
The front desk people were very nice and helpful. Room had fridge and small microwave. Coffee pot in the bathroom (one of my pet peeves is I don't cook in a bathroom) that could have been placed in the room. Plenty of outlets for charging devices. Didn't use wifi so don't know if it worked well or not. Didn't eat...
Good rate for those using Banner Hospital. Very close to the hospital, good breakfast and clean! I had asked for a handicap accessible room-the motel has only 2 rooms for handicapped. We did get a shower chair.
I was happy the rooms had been renovated from our last experience. Although the bed was comfortable, the plastic mattress cover made it a noisy sleep and the bottom sheet kept coming off or they would use a non fitted sheet. The pillows were comfortable but half the size of a regular pillow. The decor was nice although the workmanship...
We chose this hotel, because we were there on a busy weekend, and the other hotel prices were 400-500 a night. So the price for staying a few more blocks away from the convention center was worth it. Inside of the rooms aren't bad and beds slept well. Could hear the doors being closed from neighboring rooms. The outside needs...
Older property but very well maintained. Staff is very efficient and very accommodating. My stay was very pleasant,
Comfortable bed, large tub. Nice furnishings. A good place to stay for an overnight. Only drawback- there are rooms close to the road, lots of partying going on the street. Some of the noise is drowned out by the air conditioning, but if you aren't a sound sleeper, try to get a room on the other side of the complex.
We chose this hotel as a medium priced hotel. It was ~30$ less than nearby, competitors at $145. We noticed immediately that the stairwell was very dirty with dirt and gum stains, but since it was outside our room, we just ignored it. We checked in and my husband found a lot of human hair in the restroom, which he...
Had a hard time finding the hotel. Very noisy with children screaming to go out at 11:00 at night, radio blasting from car outside of room and motorcycle running for quite awhile. Glad I used my points because I would never have paid full price for that part of town. Probably would not go back to this hotel again. Staff...
Clean, nice-sized rooms/bathrooms with a great breakfast! This was close to Phx Convention Center and plenty of restaurants.
Told the manager and showed him the BEDBUG found in bed--the manager blamed previous guests and shrugged. Oh well. Golly gee, nothing we can do. Bedbugs happen. DISGUSTING!!!!! If they don't care....'nuff said.
Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. This is the 4th year I have stayed at this hotel for a business convention and Walt the manager and his staff always go above and beyond for us.
Checked into this motel late evening February 19th. The front desk clerk was not too friendly despite me having reservations in advance. I presented Id and a credit card and was given 1 room key. I asked for two and she gave me another. I had to return to the office because one of the access keys did not work....
I was told at the desk that every room is open to pets--and their messes. After walking up the dirtiest motel stairs I have seen, I discovered the room had not been vacuumed. Surfaces had dried pop spills The promised alarm clock is there, but why in the world would anyone expect it to be plugged in . . ....
This is a standard Super 8 with Heritage Square, Convention Center and the University of Arizona Campus in walking distance. The rooms were clean and quite large, compared to others on our trip. Staff at reception was nice and helpful. Breakfast was standard but ok.
Don't know how that place qualified for the AAA tour book. It was simply said.... dirty.
After a 10 hour drive that day I was looking forward to a hot bath. NOT so , because the bathtub was filthy . The carpeting was looked like it had not been cleaned for years. There was no chair by the desk for...
I have stayed at many Wyndham Hotels. This was by far the worst. Dirtiest room I have ever stayed in. Stained beds spreads, towels and carpets. Heavy dust and dirt in all corners. I left with bad allergies.
Manager had a very bad attitude.
This location was not worthy of a Wyndham franchise.
I would not recommend this location. The...
This motel is exactly what it is advertised to be. It is a good downtown location, the rooms are comfy, the beds and bathrooms are fine, and the breakfast bar has waffles/fruit/yogurt. It is downtown so it can be noisy with traffic and sirens. You can hear neighbors coming and going, but for the price the hotel is fine. There...
I stayed here nearly 4 years for 2 nights on business. I gave it a stellar review. So, when my Wife and I needed a room for a night for an event, I thought Super 8!
At first blush, it appeared the same as before. Friendly check-in, empty, but clean parking area. That's about where it ended.
Walking upstairs to...
The staff were very helpful and polite. Stayed two nights because my husband was in the hospital nearby. The room was fine except the carpet was very soiled and needs replacement in two different rooms that I stayed in
I'll try to be as optimistic as I can with this. The hotel has the quality of an Asian-themed hotel management with the cost value of a mega-franchise, it is sure to have something for everybody.
The main amenity I sought after was a place to sleep and it did that very well. Honestly, it was very comfortable and quiet...
I found this driving by and stopped late at night without shopping around for prices, so it was a bit pricey for what it was. The night employee at the desk was new but very professional. The room was non-smoking but smelled like smoke and had a cigarette burn in the bedspread, and there were several obvious oversights in cleaning...
Making the reservation was easy online and I was able to get a good rate by reserving my room well in advance of my trip. The room was clean and it was nice to have the microwave and refrigerator. The people at the desk at check in were pleasant and friendly. I was within walking distance of the downtown convention...
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was older but was kept looking nice. The carpets were very old and showed a lot of wear and were dirty. I did like that the room was on the first floor and the area was quiet. I would stay there again.
Clean room but needs some updating. Close to major freeways. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Our first trip and they gave great recommendations on eating and sites. Our room was older and needed some updating as far as furniture and bathroom. The coffee pot was in bathroom! Easy to find and convenience store across street. Not bad for price.
Quiet and comfortable. Room could have been a little cleaner. Short walk to convention center and a variety of eateries
Breakfest was fine but some fruits would have been appreciated
Internet speed was quite low but fine if you are patient
Cleanless of the bathroom may have been improved
My husband and I are DBack fans and travel 3.5 hours to see their games. We have weekend season tickets. Super 8 is less than 5 minutes away, pretty much down the corner. We booked the entire "season" with Walt at Super 8 and will do it again for 2016! The rooms are clean, (thank you housekeepers!) the staff are...
I really enjoyed my stay and meeting the staff. The room was soo soo, and the front door has a huge gap in it.
I had a big project and who ever was at the front desk at the time did their best to help me.
The computer Apple- program is more sophisticated than what one would expect at a...
I've stayed here twice while attending conventions and found this location to be convenient being only a 15 min walk or $5-6 cab ride away from the convention center. The accommodations were livable. The bedding and linens were clean, the bed was comfortable, the air conditioner worked, I was fine with that. I enjoyed the fact that parking, wifi, and...
It was so hot in the room and especially the bathroom. We turned the ac on but it shut down after a while. The sink in the bathroom was leaking. Otherwise it was okay. Comfortable beds, big room, TV, fridge... Yeah everything we needed we had it.
We were touring (primarily downtown) phoenix for two days and wanted to stay at a convenient location. This hotel was walking distance to downtown, including Chase Field. Although the neighborhood is slightly "shady", that is more because it is light industrial than it actually being unsafe.
For a budget hotel, the rooms were comfortable, there was ample (free) parking and...
For the price it could have been little better maintained, no phone in room, carpet an bed spread were dirty. however the staff made it enjoyable. The young Hispanic woman with long curly hair was pleasant, she printed out our boarding passes an even helped order a pizza for my kids. Thank you. We did not know what to expect...
I had a booking for one night in this hotel. I called the hotel to cancel my booking since I wanted to change the hotel, and the person I had on the phone confirmed the cancellation. But the hotel charged me this night on my credit card, saying that the my booking was not cancellable. Then why telling me on...
Either this place was designed by someone with a quirky sense of humor, or the installation and maintenance crews are tired. Things don't line up, In one of our rooms, the coatrack (no closets) was installed at least a couple of degrees off horizontal. In another room the semicircular shower curtain rod sagged so that by the end of the...
Avoid this place like the plague! I stayed here with family, as a simple place to lay our heads following a Diamonbacks ballgame. It is in an iffy neighborhood of Phoenix and the outward appearance reflects this. The check-in staff was rather clueless about the place and sent me twice to rooms without functioning air conditioners (imagine that during July...
The property and parking lot looked like they had recent face-lifts... both were very nice. The room was clean. The entryway carpet was stained. The bathroom appeared recently upgraded and was in very good working order. I'd stay there again. I got a better price by going through the Super 8 website. The bed was firm and comfortable... no backache...
Large room and updated bathroom, but the appliances need repairs.
Good overall
It was a nice hotel for the price and conveniently located downtown.
It was great. Second year of staying here for meetings.
Rough. All I can say is rough. Very rough. I know this is only a Super 8, but I would leve the "super" out of it
My husband and I stayed here for 1 night before we moved into our new place (just moved here from the Midwest). The hotel looked very nice but the pool didn't look so healthy. The woman who checked us in was very nice, and the woman who checked us out was super friendly ( I forget her name but it...
All went well and stay very comfort , breakfast was greatly received. Will come back again for this hotel very close to downtown area life, Super 8 was good stay must come back receptionist was very friendly. Thanks
Hotel was centrally located, and appeared to be either recently renovated or newer. Had a breakfast that was not the best, but ok. Remember, it isn't the Hilton, a good place to rest your head for a night or 2 without going broke. Restaurants were within walking distance
The room was actually nicer than we expected. Internet was a little slow, but LTG on our phones worked much better. Would stay here again, we were in town for a baseball game and the walk to the stadium wasn't bad.
Our reservations have been made for the entire DBack season at Super 8, which is always a pleasant stay. Unfortunately this time, when we arrived, our room was not cleaned and the other accessible room was taken. They gave us an un-accessible room. It looked like no one had stayed in it for a while. There was dirt and dust...
My hotel room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The tub and shower worked. Water was hot enough for my liking. The pool was clean. Wi-fi worked reliably. I stayed for several nights and the things I left in my room were undisturbed. Check in and check out went smooth and quick. It wasn't as fancy as a higher end hotel, but it was $150 a night less than a higher end hotel, too. I had...
Staff was great and accommodating, breakfast was good, had a few options, room was standard, enjoyed microwave, shower curtain needed to be exchanged, appeared old and been through alot. enjoyed our stay.
We stayed here for one night (before heading out to Scottsdale) because it is close to Chase Field. The location is great if you want to stay close to downtown Phoenix. There is lots of parking available. The air conditioning worked well, but it was really loud. I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep because of how loud it was.
Good quality motel, conveniently located for the airport and local restaurants.
Clean room, hot shower and very passable continental breakfast included. Fridge, microwave and free wifi, plus all the little extras you don't always get.
Quiet location. All in all, value for money.
Big rooms
Clean beds .
Only thing :it needs a DEEP CLEAN! Or housekeeping was new she missed a lot of places that needed to be clean..
I have been in the hotel Business and I know how it has to be done. Other than that great place to stay, breakfast was good by the way
We stayed here for four nights and were so glad we had booked. The motel is in a great location for downtown - 15 mins walk/ 5 mins drive. The room had been recently refurbished and was very well decorated, had a full size fridge and microwave, together with free wifi and a large tv. (I'm British, so all this...
I'm back again, after staying at this motel in March for the third straight year. It's clean and quiet, very well located and well run (tip of that hat to manager Walt Schemm), with excellent (and free) wifi and an excellent breakfast. It's just a 12-minute walk from downtown (where parking is very difficult and expensive) and if your destination...
Booked through Expedia and stayed a week for Arizona Bike Week event in Scottsdale. Good things - has a pool, room comes with fridge and microwave, Directly across the street there is a gas station/convenience store (Circle K), a mile or so to Downtown businesses and good restaurants, easy to get to freeway but not close Wish could be improved - Poor neighborhood, I actually stopped a...
That the hotel was great and the price was right. The room and the bathroom were clean and up to date. The staff was very helpful, nice and friendly. The staff alone would make me want to go back
Be advised, this Super 8 is more of a Motel, with doors to the outside facing the parking lot. About a 15 min walk to the Arizona Center. Property could use a refurbishment, rooms are quoted dated. No airport shuttle, about a $15-20 cab ride to airport.
All was good. I just needed a place to sleep. It is located just a couple of blocks from downtown area. Staff was accommodating, breakfast good. Due to the fact it is in a popular city with a multitude of activities the price is a bit high. In comparison to the price of other places it is a good price....
Enjoyed our stay. Would recommend to all my friends.
This property is near downtown, right across from a Circle K and a park, all making it a very convenient location.
The property looks well-kept from the outside, and initially I was impressed with the room. Double room was quite large, came with a flat screen, fridge, microwave, hairdryer, coffee maker, iron, ironing board, and had a nook with a...
Stayed here for a basketball game. Hotel was within walking distance to the arena. Had no problems, the hotel was clean, and the staff was nice.
Hotel was ok at best very very very interesting neighborhood. Hard to get a good nites sleep. Staff was fair at best and did their job but that was it.
・机が広くてビジネスには良い ・コンベンションセンターまで徒歩10〜15分 ・コーヒーメーカーが少し汚れてた ・朝食はパンだけではなく、一品ある。 ・コンビニが目の前で便利。ただし他には何も店がない。
We stayed one night. The place is easy to find and it's close to down town and airport. Extremely convenient, good value for the price.
Hotel is fine in a O.K area. Circle K, convenience store was a cross the street. Housekeeping was poor they never clean the room, make the bed or changed the wet towels the I left in the floor. I went to the front desk and ask for new and clean towels. It was after 7 pm and the cleaning service was gone. The next morning I left a note in the door to please clean the room. When I got back from...
It's conveniently located to the downtown. The area isn't as bad as other reviews say. The staff was friendly.
Breakfast had Bread, Cereals, Yoghurt, Boiled Eggs, Waffle, Bagels, Coffee and Oranges. No fresh cut fruits or Donuts. Lost my IPAD staying there. Room was broken and stuff stolen. Not a good feeling. Security cameras were not covering the area we stayed.
Zentral gelegenes Motel, nahe dem Stadtzentrum und den Stadien. Tolle Frühstückauswahl und gratis Parkplatz. Alles überwacht.
The outside looks rough, but the rooms are nice and clean. If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay in Phoenix check this place out.
Friendly staff, updated rooms. Location isn't the best.. but it is what it is. Great value for the money.
The motel is an older motel they are trying to renovate. The bedroom is small for a king-sized bed--you felt very crowded in it. The bathroom has been remodeled and is nice and large so that part was good. The room had an unusual odor when we first got there but were staying for several days. We were able to open the window and air it out and the odor was gone in 2 days. Was quiet place except...
it was a One night only, the room was ok the pillows are not the best but bed comfy, bathroom pretty clean/ the Continental Breakfast could have been a weeeee bit better. Only luke warm coffee/
Overall very disappointed. The second night I returned to my room to find that housekeeping had not cleaned my room. I iron my clothes every day and when I tried to use the ironing board it was in such poor shape I had to lay it over the sink. I did complain about this and housekeeping both were fixed. My last morning I had no hot water at all. When I called the desk they said that they would...
Good cost effectiveness~
Room was a little musty. Could do with some airing. Nice place to stay. Close to town.
I noticed the sheets were not entirely clean. There was a cockroach in the bathroom. There also were loud noises during the night from the parking lot. The latter is not an issue the hotel staff can control.
Das Zimmer war einfach nur schmutzig, von den Handtüchern über die Bettwäsche bis hin zu Bad und Böden!
Great value for the price. Pretty shady area but it felt safe to leave our car on their parking lot at night. Did not spend time there during the day, just slept. Will not book it again.
Hotel was a great price, room was clean bathroom remodeled and it's within walking distance to the downtown metro. No taxi needed at all and is right a cross the street from a Circle K!
This Super 8 is a good value. $60 a night and was clean, pool was good, and room was fine. I was expecting a lot less for $60/night than the pleasant surprise we received.
Front desk was very nice and chatty. They were very helpful and had great service.
Cons: There was a strong old carpet smell when I first came in the room. I had to leave the bathroom fan on all the time to get rid of the smell. The bathroom door was sticky and hard to open or close without pulling our pushing really hard. The area was not a very nice part of the town, it was noisy at night. I paid $90+ for the room which I think it should be $70s. Pros: good and friendly...
I had to go to Phoenix while my father was in the hospital there. It was a good location & close to everything I needed. The area isn't too bad considering the rate. Plenty of parking there.
4 night stay, quiet during the evenings, and super comfy bed allowed for great nights sleep. Room had fridge, micro, nice shower, and as mentioned bed was very nice for sleeping. It is close to downtown (15 min walk) and a metro station which is handy to get around town and it's only $4 for an all day pass. There is a circle k across the street that's open 24 hours but other than that there is...
I was due at a meeting at 6 am each day. Super 8 only 5 minutes away - very convenient. Quiet. Overall condition of hotel: very good. Service excellent.
Its an okay hotel if youre just looking for a place to sleep. Theres only two pillows per bed, which made it less comfortable. And I dont think they changed the sheets or towels during the duration of our stay, so make sure you hang youre towels.
This was an nice place to stay. Just needed a bit of an upgrade. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was close to downtown where I needed to be. The price was decent considering there were several events that were going on when I stayed there. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.
I came here for a convention at the Phoenix Convention Center downtown and came across Super 8 during my search and chose it based on proximity to the convention center but mainly for the price. I was a little hesitant about the walking distance but it was totally fine clocking in at about a 15-17 minute walk. Some days we opted to take a taxi there or back when we felt lazy but at $6-8...
I arrived at the hotel at around 11 pm after having been up since 3:30 am and traveling all day to get to Phoenix. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and I was anxious to get into my room and get to bed. Check in was quick and I was on my way. I arrived at my room to a somewhat broken door handle, You had to pull up on it to make it work rather than the typical push down. Oh well....
It was practical
I liked the hotel , it was closer to a spot where we were gong for a concert.....but on the second day, our lights and TV weren't working for almost two hours. Had to sit in the dark for a while but thank god we had our laptop to watch TV. The pool was nice and liked the view.
We were not able to take the assigned second floor room, as one of us has an illness that makes climbing stairs arduous. The desk clerk was obviously aggravated at having to give us a room on the ground floor. Her first response to the request was to growl that she only had one left. What a coincidence that the room was next to a noisy and busy ice machine as well as looking onto a stairwell.As...
Nous avons passé une semaine dans cet hôtel. La femme de chambre ne passait pas tous les jours et la piscine n'était pas entretenue.
Everything was fine, execept the door on one of our rooms wouldn't open unless you pushed it with all force, and when we let the staff know they didn't do anything about it. Besides that, everything was fine.
The staff was great. The room was cramped but worth it because of the price we paid.
We stayed for couple nights while in Phoenix and had a good experience. Rooms were clean and beds were comfy. Some fruit would of been nice at breakfast, but overall we liked it. $50 something for a night is a great price.
buena
Everything was very nice very clean room staff was friendly and kind and very helpful will be staying every time im in phx no bad words about it will tell every one i no that its the best
Close to the locations I needed to get to, staff was courteous and the gentleman behind the desk gave me a location for a great locals restaurant I would never have known about with a great down home steak dinner. I will stay again on my next trip.
I come here often for business. I stay here because it is close to downtown. Parts of the hotel are dirty but it seems management are slowly making improvements in this area. The rooms themselves are pretty standard.
It was average, not bad. Normal hotel, clean, friendly staff.
Near downtown, good bars, basquetball and baseball stadium. The manager is quite grumpy
I was looking for something cheap and close to downtown area. the place is nothing spectacular. wi-fi sucks. small breakfast room.
DATE:9-27-2013
ENCOUNTER: We have been checking all hotel rooms since we got bed bugs in vegas few years ago. So we got to hotel today and husband goes in for his standard check he lifted mattress and pulled back covers and everything and found none so we set up camp left for a few hours came back around 8pm and my husband went to the bathroom and finds a live one walking around on the floor....
Great just bad wifi service and the food service is not that great
In this economy, the perfect place to stay to avoid the pricy conference hotel. Short walk to the convention center (but not at night) or an inexpensive cab ride. Clean rooms but not an airport shuttle like it says on the website.
Not what I was expecting from a Super 8, but all the rooms have been updated. Great Beds, Flat Screen TV's, and ideal location for all things downtown. You can pay a lot more for a room this nice elsewhere, but why? I have stayed at this location more than a few times and continue to return. A fantastic value.
Basic amenities but room was recently renovated, clean and everything worked (although the wireless signal dropped occasionally and the AC was somewhat noisy). Three blocks from metro light rail, one stop from convention center (Phoenix is big and only has one Metro line so this is important). Ample free breakfast and staff friendly. Great value.
The cleaning staff was excellent. The front desk staff not so friendly.
I needed a cheap place to stay close to the convention center since I was taking the AZ Bar exam there. I was expecting a low-quality sketchy experience since it was so cheap and downtown.I was pleasantly surprised!First, it is walking distance to the convention center, and other popular downtown places, which was perfect.Come to find out, the hotel has been recently renovated. My room seemed...
[...] The rooms were not supplied like it was advertised. No microwave, no frig. Was dirty in the front/living room, just a scary hotel, in a scary area of town. Outdoor pool was dirty.
In town for a convention so good location. However the rooms were kind of smelly, like some pet had been in there. Could hear outside noises but when fan was on it covered the noise.
