Breakfast great, clean, friendly, travel was awesome
Nice hotel.
Good clean hotel prices high for where it is
the staff was very helpful and the layout of the hotel was very nice and quiet.
We stay at the Hampton inn every time we visit our family in Gloucester .It's always clean, and comfortable .The service is always excellent
Hotel was typical Hampton Inn. I was traveling with my wife, kids, and elderly mother. We had to wait an hour and a half for our rooms to be cleaned before we could check in. This was after an eight hour drive to get there. The delay made us late for a dinner reservation. We complained to the desk, and...
Overall the hotel was okay - too expensive for the area and type of accommodation. Heatng was set at very cold setting when we checked in - thi swas in-spite of teh fact that we had booked in advance an dpaid fro it. It took a long time for teh room to heat up and we had to wait in...
The Glouster Hampton has a great staff, great service, and a very nice facility. We enjoyed our stay. This survey requires 200 characters in order for it to post to Trip Advisor. That is why I am writing this sentence.
Very friendly and helpful staff. We were treated like friends come for a visit. Nice rooms. Great breakfast with a lot of variety. The location was even perfect for our visit. I think they deserve the good review this sentence is just being added due to the problem with trip advisor requiring a certain number of characters.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. I couldn't ask for better service. The 24hr coffee/tea stations was wonderful (used it a lot)! The complimentary breakfast had everything you could possibly want and more. Hotel was very clean.
I really enjoyed my stay at this Hampton Inn. The room met expectations and the staff were stellar. It's always nice to have a Hampton breakfast bar in the morning; something for everyone. I was a little warm in the room since they had such a nice thick comforter--but a regular weight blanket was in the closet, so I did...
We were given a room in a non-smoking hotel that reeked of smoke. Apparently, a guest violated the rules and smoked. Finally at 2:00 am, we were moved to a suite to make up for the horrific cigar smoke smell. The staff was very professional and Regina, especially. However, we should never have been assigned a room in that condition....
The staff was very friendly and the hotel offered a wonderful experience at a good price. The location was close to the main center of Gloucester. The beds were very comfortable and the morning breakfast was very inviting and offered a variety of choices. The amenities were great with an indoor heated pool and fitness center.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn Gloucester during our visit to the Oyster Festival. The staff was nice friendly and most accommodating in every respect. When in the area we would suggest that you consider this location for your stay. It is very near Gloucester Point and Yorktown.
This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in in quite some time since I'm a Resort owner. It's always nice to have your own refrig and microwave! The location was great for the purpose that I statyed at the hotel. The shopping center was in walking distrance and the trip to Williamsburg from there was most convenient too.
I was there two weeks for business purposes and the accommodations were excellent and the staff very courteous and responsive. I will definitely stay there again when in the area for business or pleasure. It was close to many restaurants and not far from the beautiful downtown of Gloucester.
This is the 2nd time we have stayed at this hotel, the first was several years ago, so when we had to attend a funeral in the area, we again booked here. As far as hotels go, you are pretty much limited to this or the Clarion next door. Hampton Inns are our 'go to' hotels as we can depend...
Stayed here Oct 31, 2014-Nov 2, 2014.
Highly recommend this hotel--would definitely stay here again. We know we can always count on Hampton Inns when we travel. Reservations in this case were for a wedding, so our room was one of a block of rooms set aside for this event at a nearby popular wedding venue. Registration desk personnel greeted...
Nettie Fulton arranged our meeting at the Gloucester Hampton Inn. Her help in setting up our meeting really contributed to the success of the day. I am so grateful to Nettie and the whole staff at the Gloucester Hampton Inn. Everyone was dedicated to meeting our needs and provided the best customer service I've ever experienced. What a team!
We found that the Hampton's in Williamsburg were booked the weekend of our trip. so we booked a Hampton 20 minutes away. We will not stay anywhere else. The rooms are always clean, the beds are comfortable and the service is great. They always have a great breakfast in the mornings every Hampton we have been to.
The front desk staff was exceptional--courteous and friendly. Remembered us by name as we departed and entered--nice touch. The concern for cleanliness is apparent throughout the facility--halls, pool area, breakfast area, and rooms. Not sure why the hallways were kept so cool, but the temp could have been raised a few degrees consistent with the obvious concern Hampton Inns have...
Our most recent stay at this hotel was the 5th time we have stayed here. The hotel is right off a main road so its easy to get to, and is fairly close to many of the historical areas of Virginia including Yorktown and Williamsburg. Its about an hour drive to Norfolk airport and all of the other museums and...
Fabulous facilities. Staff goes out of their way to assist guest in whatever their needs are. Low priced snack shop. Great location to eateries for a quick bite after a long day. Easy access off main roads.
We were in Gloucester for a wedding and were a little concerned when there were only two hotels in the area that were recommended. We chose the Hampton Inn because we've used them before and had good experiences. It was a good place to stay for the night and the staff was very helpful.
Booked the two queen bed suite with pull out couch! Great for a family of three with a teen who does not wantt to share a bed with a family memeber! Room was extremely large, had a microwave, small fridge, sink and coffee maker. The vanity area is outside the actual bathroom convenient yes, but the lighting in the area...
The Hampton Inn in Gloucester VA was a delightful experience and we will stay there again soon. The clean rooms, the friendly and hard working staff, and the location of the hotel was perfect. We were new to VA and everyone gave us that Southern hospitality and laid back environment that was very relaxing.
Stayed here while exploring the area. All of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful, the young girl at the front desk sent us to a great restaurant ( Olivia's ) in town. The room was nice and clean and more than adequate for a one night stay.
Overall this is a very nice establishment. The person above us rose at 5am. Their footsteps were quite loud and woke us up on both mornings. Wifi was an important need during this visit. We needed only to check emails and do some general web surfing. The net speed was quite slow even for these purposes. The breakfast was all...
Great room and friendly staff. Excellent breakfast! Quiet location but many surrounding restaurants and right on Rt 17. It was a straight trip home! I have stayed at this facility several times and I always return when I am in the area.
Our decision to book a one-night stay at this Hampton Inn was an excellent choice. It was easy to find in an area with few other motels or hotels. The staff showed their southern hospitality to us and to all other guests. The complimentary breakfast had a variety of choices. The room was quiet, well-appointed, and clean. The beds were...
Everything was first-rate, from check-in to breakfast, to pool, to the lovely-scented shampoo and soap. There was a microwave and fridge, and the closet was (cleverly) behind the full-length mirror. Would definitely stay there again.
I joined the HH honors club after I made my reservation, expecting to stay at this location again. My first suggestion would be to have a bell at the check in counter. The woman didn't even realize I was there for several minutes. She was great though. Could you perhaps purchase at least one more bellman cart? I had to...
This was a very clean hotel from the lobby to the rooms. The bed was comfy but I was disappointed there was no microwave, fridge or closet space in the room. Other than those things it was a great stay!!
I was looking for accommodations close to my training site for an overnight stay. While searching I was directed to booking.com.....upon arriving at the hotel I was quite pleasef. I went to the front desk and was greeted by the agent and told the agent that I had made reservations for overnight stay. After looking for me in the system...
This really is a great example of a Hampton Inn. No loud walking above you or paper thin walls. I have stayed here many times, and the rooms, staff, and amenities are very good.
My only issue with the hotel is with the smoking area. It is right outside the front entrance, and I am forced to walk right through...
Arrived at 3am for checkin. We were greeted friendly and courteously. Explained we were in town due to a death in the family. We were treated specially, including allowing my children to get breakfast 30 minutes after breakfast was officially over. The staff knew were didn't check in until 3am and were sympathetic to our emotions and hunger. A wonderful...
This property was the cleanest, friendliest chain hotel that I have experienced in years. The staff was friendly and knowledgable. The complimentary breakfast had a great selection of hot and cold choices.
This is our second visit to the Hampton Inn Gloucester. Our first visit was excellent. However, this time there were a couple of problems.
When I made our reservation I asked for a feather free room due to my allergies. When I arrived I asked if the room was feather free and was told "yes" I woke up in the...
Very enjoyable stay..beautiful clean hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I've ever slept on. The whole process of checking in and out was quick and efficient. Was able to print airline boarding passes in the business office.
Asked for first floor and got it. Room very nice, clean and odor free. Linen fresh and clean. The hot breakfast was offered: hot scramble eggs, sausage, French toast, bagels, English muffins, toast, biscuits, fresh fruit, yogurts, hot and cold cereals. Four different juices, coffee, tea's, milk and hot chocolate. Very nice and fresh.
Friendly efficient staff, clean establishment, comfortable beds w clean rooms, something for even the pickiest to eat at continental breakfast; also has fitness center and pool though we did not have time to use.
The hotel itself may be getting a little shop-worn, but the staff more than make up for it. Breakfast on Sunday morning was swamped and food ran out but it appeared to be guests of guests. Solution is to get up earlier to miss the crowds. Monday morning breakfast was peaceful and food aplenty. Beds and pillows are comfy and...
Everything about the hotel was great. Everyone was very friendly and helpful before we arrived and during our stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Good variety for breakfast. We would definitely stay here again if we're back in this area.
First if all this is my 3rd visit here- my first visit was what hooked me on hampton inns. This visit wasn't up to my expectations. I was sad that the hotel is looking so worn! The breakfast area rugs are dirty and stained, the hotel rooms are showing their age- wall scuffs, dirty tub grout, just worn looking. The...
Just checked out, and wanted to write the review right away while it is fresh in our minds.
First of all, Lydia at the front desk deserves lots of compliments and extra pay. Upon arrival, she went above and beyond with all of our requests. Special thanks to you Lydia.
The room was clean as we expect with Hampton Inns....
With only 3 hours to book a hotel for my mother-in-law's birthday celebration, we recalled a Hampton Hotel not far from her home. My husband called and booked a room. Upon arrival, they greeted us with a warm welcome and checked us in right away. They walked us through the amenities and asked if they can help in any other...
We had no problems with the hotel and parking, and breakfast was good (would have liked some oatmeal, but the cereal selection was good). The tub has a grab bar (always a good idea, that not all hotels have). The beds were comfortable enough, personally we both hate duvets, but that's the way of the world!
What a surprise to stay in such a great hotel. Room was HUGE, beds were comfortable and the place was spotless. used the fitness center and breakfast was great. Spent a lot of time in the room and would stay there again.
Service was great. Rooms were clean, and staff was very friendly. My son left his championship ring in the room when he left, and the staff gave us a call and told us, because he a completely forgot about it. The staff was very honest.
I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. There weren't many options available when we were researching hotels to stay at for a Marine time course my husband needed to take. We chose the Hampton Inn because we had stayed in one before and thought it was nice. When we arrived for check in we were upgraded to a very nice...
Turn in like you are going to Wendy's because this hotel is really hard to see from the highway. Nice Hampton Inn, has an indoor pool, no hot tub. My only issue was that they only had 2 luggage carts and this is a big hotel. I checked out at 10 am on a Thursday and both were unavailable. I...
We stopped here on a college trip through Virginia. Love the atmosphere & the staff was so welcoming & helpful. Recommended a fabulous seafood restaurant only a short drive. Not a far drive from the water, clean & nice rooms & a great breakfast - much better experience here than in their sister Hilton in DC!!! Would recommend staying the...
At the spur of the moment we decided to spend a weekend in Gloucester. There was not many choices but we have stayed at Hampton Inns before and knew of the great quality. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The free breakfast was good but the dining area itself could have had...
Family Feeling Hampton Inn from the second we checked in to the second we checked out. The front desk clerk was so polite and helpful considering we had a early check-in who really made us feel at home here and the beds are soft but not to soft giving us a great night sleep after we got back from Busch...
My Mom and I stayed there recently. The room was clean, but seemed cramped. Beds were comfortable. Front desk staff was very pleasant. Hotel was hard to find and the signage on the main road needs to be improved. The fan in the bathroom did not work, so it was very steamy after showering. There was no refrigerator in the...
Very courtesous and comfortable. Would not have expected more.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
I mistakenly booked the wrong hotel first. Called the hotel to cancel and when I arrived at the Gloucester hotel my reservation had been cancelled there. She showed me the fax from travel web canalling the reservation. We got it sorted but it took about 3
Very clean. Comfortable. Will gladly stay again.Breakfast was served at good times and tasted good.Indoor pool was perfect for the kids. Was surrounded by a lot of shopping and fast food options, as well as gas stations.
Clean, Impressive Continental Breakfast and Friendly staff!
Clean. Nice room. Coffee and breakfast in the morning
Attended wedding in urbana
I was in Gloucester on family business. The hotel was clean, the staff friendly, the room large and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.
Very clean andlarge bathrooms.\n\nWould have preferred a bathtub to walk-in shower.
We enjoyed our trip to Gloucester. Very historical area. It was an easy drive to Yorktown, Jamestown, and Williamsburg. We also went to a public beach in Matthews county.
Friendly, even with late night arrival.Room very clean and well stocked.Breakfast adequate.
Security.\n\nHampton Inn has always been a great value, very secure and clean.
The room was very attractive, comfortable and clean. Beds comfortable though pillows too soft. Excellent breakfasts in clean, well maintained eating area that was large enough to accommodate guests easily. A refrigerator in the room would have helped.
Very clean, very comfortable, no noise from traffic or neighbors, staff is very friendly and helpful. Will certainly return. Breakfast was very good. Only 2 minor points-pool could have been a bit warmer and room temp was a little tricky to keep adjusted. Otherwise we really liked the place and will come back.
Nice, clean rooms. Cool closet door--a full length mirror, very nice to use while dressing up for church. We were disappointed by no refrigerator or microwave, never thought to look in the ammenities, assumed all hotels had them, especially one so new. Otherwise, the quietest hotel we've ever stayed in- no outdoor road noise, no hallway nosie. Definately would stay again, if ref/micro were...
