Every summer we visit Homer for a couple days and the Fresh Sourdough Express remains our favorite place to eat breakfast or lunch. From the first bite (to the last), you can tell they use fresh and local ingredients. The employees and owners are so warm and welcoming.

We just grabbed lunch at Sourdough and my reindeer sausage with onions and peppers was perfection. The green chili it was served with was really good and seasoned nicely.

The Sourdough Express is one of Homer's older restaurants. Only open in the summer season, locals still remain loyal to it. Great baked goods and a nice breakfast menu. Does serve lunch and maybe dinner but I have never eaten anything but breakfast there. Not cheap, but I didn't walk away mad!

I was working in Alaska this summer and heard that the best place to eat was the Fresh Sourdough Express. It was delicious, home-cooked food that made me feel comforted and nourished. I would recommend this place to all visiting and all locals. When I return to Homer, this will be my hang-out!
When I was working in Alaska this summer - I went into this wonderful café that had the best pastries and breakfast around. I would highly recommend anyone to go and I will be back again in the summer.
