Good family hotel

Average Rating

Good place to bring family. Food is just ok but everything else is good.

Nice hotel close to Busch gardens.

We loved that there was also a basketball hoop at the hotel. Another option in addition to the pool.

Disappointing for a Hilton

Average Rating
40

The room was NOT clean!! Would not classify the quality of cleanliness as a Hilton property at all! Although the shower itself was clean, the bathroom was full of splatter and stains that should have been wiped and cleaned with disinfectant. The inside of the bathroom door had something dried and brown dripping down it. The toilet ran all night. Could barely move in the small bathroom. We were...

The staff was very professional, they assisted myself and family in a very respectful and courteous manner, I would return again,!,

Nice hotel, but noisy

Average Rating
80

Adjacent room was noisy - space under connecting door used by maids allowed conversations and TV noise to be heard in my room. Since they did not go to sleep until late (after 0130), it was difficult to get the early sleep I wanted. Not the hotels fault, just the construction of the rooms.

Wonderful staff. Remodeled but age shows.

Average Rating

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We received cookies at check in. We prefer to be left alone while at hotels and don't really need the room cleaned so we leave the DND disturb sign. We were given privacy which was great. Room and hotel were clean. Had breakfast in the restaurant on the property. Food was alright but honestly was worse than most hotels with free breakfast. Felt a little...

Yuck

This hotel is convenient to Busch Gardens but that is about it. The representative checking me in was rude, room was dirty, the springs on the cot were digging into my daughter's back, door handle to room was broken, toilet seat wouldn't go up...these were just a few of the inconveniences! I wouldn't recommend!

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel was close to local attractions. Easy access from Route 64.

Nice hotel in great location to Williamsburg sites

Average Rating

Overall, our stay was good. The only things that stood out were: the parking lot was being repaired, so strips of hot tar was smearing everywhere & our tires are coated. It would have been nice to know about this at check in instead of finding out ourselves. Also, the bathroom door in our room didn't close properly and there was no overhead fan in the bathroom either.

Beautiful room but horrible musty smell

Average Rating

The hotel itself was beautiful. But the hallway leading to our room had no air conditioning and was hot and musty smelling. As soon as we walked into our room we could smell the musty smell also. The closet smelled so bad I had to wash the clothes hanging in there because they also started to smell. Housekeeping never came for two days and we had to call twice to have them come and spray air...

Booked room for 3 had to request rollbed ....2 glasses instead of 3 .... Buffet breakfast not covered and waiters eating while serving .. Second night sheets not changed no vacuum done problem with water tap after first shower next person had cold water also bathroom was not cleaned

Not really what I would expect from Doubletree

Overflowing outdoor trash canisters. Ice machines not working. Broken tiles in foyer area. Staff is courteous, but the facility generally shows wear. Great location though if you plan to visit Busch Gardens.

Very disappointing experience

Average Rating

We stayed at this hotel because of its proximity to Busch Gardens. We arrived in the evening ready to relax only to be greeted by a very boisterous atmosphere. Some ghoul and goblin convention was taking place. Not sure what it was all about but every guest was a pretty unsavory character. They were all dressed in black with creepy face paint and costumes. I think a guest should be notified...

Hotel staff very nice - however we went to Busch Gardens from 10:00 a.m. and did not return until 10:30 p.m. and our room was just as we left it that morning, never made up. Hotel staff brought us some fresh towels and that was it, kind of a bummer.

Good hotel for Williamsburg attractions

Shuttle service to Busch Gardens was majorly helpful. However, reported maintenance issues to staff that weren't addressed during our stay - lowers my rating.

Broken air conditioning

Average Rating

Our room had no air conditioning and it was hot! Industrial fan supplied and was too noisy to use. People were in the pool right outside our room and making lots of noise at 1am when the pool should have been closed at 11pm.

My husband and I used to stay at this hotel when it was a Marriott. We quit coming about 10 years ago, because it wasn't being taken care of well. Coming back this weekend, we were happy with the lobby and amenities, but were disappointed in the look of the room. They may have changed the wall color, but they weren't finished painting it seemed. It looked like someone forgot to finish painting...

Easy check in, nice polite employees room was nice beds were firm and we could control the ac, had a pool it was nice but more for kids 5' depth, the restaurant/ bar was the biggest surprise food was awesome limited menu, breakfast buffet was worth the cost. Relaxing experience, was what we wanted and we got it.

Nice hotel, very comfortable.

Great hotel, very comfortable! The only complaint I have is that the bathrooms need to be a bit larger and the exhaust fan was not functional. Beds were comfortable and room was spacious. Hotel location was fantastic!

Very disappointed

Average Rating

What a disappointing experience! The rooms were small and the bathroom was unbelievably tiny. There was even a used wash cloth left in the shower! Light fixtures were rusted, very out dated hotel. However, the staff was very friendly and it is very close to Busch Gardens.

Would definitely stay there again!

We had spent 3 hot hours at Busch Gardens! The hotel let us check into our room earlier. I was so happy as I needed a shower and to cool down. The room was so clean. The bedding was clean and comfortable. This stay was perfect in every way!

Went to celebrate my birthday over the weekend. Very clean. Super friendly staff.

Average Rating

This is a beautiful, spacious hotel with very kind and gracious staff. The young man that checked us in even offered to give us a tour of the hotel facilities. The only small issue we had was finding the right temperature for the AC, it could get pretty cold and then a little too warm after adjusting. Of course, the weekend we stayed the temperature soared over 90 outside.

This hotel is just minutes from Busch Gardens, making our visit perfect. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping opportunities nearby, yet it feels secluded. Our room was very clean, with white feather comforters and comfortable feather pillows. Bathroom was very clean with thick towels, plenty of hot water and excellent water pressure. There are better places to stay. This facility is dated. Do not book a room that is not refundable as there are no exceptions . Parking lot had many potholes also

The front desk clerk could have advised us of amenities such as where the pool was, etc., but he was friendly and courteous nonetheless. Other than the wake-up call system either not working, or not programmed in properly by hotel personnel, it was a pleasant stay.

Promised a pack and play gave them all away After I call 7:00 am morning and was told we had one in room gave 1 year old baby roll away also asked about indoor pool Was told had one when we arrived at pool with 3 kids saw that pool was closed

Decent hotel, very close to Busch Gardens.

My family and I stayed at the dbl tree for spring break vacation. The staff was very friendly. But our room was not what we saw online. It was pretty tight quarters. The bathroom towels had someone else hair in it. Good thing we brought our own towels from home. Also the cookies everyone has been raving about, aren't that great. The pool was small and not enough chlorine to kill germs.

Average Hotel - Close to Busch Gardens

Average Rating

The hotel is quite large and right on the strip of Busch Gardens. There is a arcade and indoor pool which came in super handy since we were unable to go to the park given weather conditions. The interior of the hotel could stand for a bit of an update. The rooms are quite drab and dark and the bathroom smelled like there was a sewage backup. The rooms have a refrigerator but no microwave which...

Incredibly Convenient to Busch Gardens

Stayed during spring break to go to Busch Gardens. The park is about 1.5 miles away,so we were able to get right in when it opened. Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown are also close by. Would definitely stay here again.

Wish we could've enjoyed our stay longer

We arrived fairly late in the evening and were immediately greeted by incredibly friendly staff who gave us the low down on the restaurants, room service, etc without asking, which I felt was a nice touch. The room was modern, spacious, and very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable -- I'm a huge fan of covered duvets vs bedspreads some hotels still use and I loved having extra pillows...

Greeted by helpful, friendly staff... and had cookies right out of the oven ready at check-in...YUM! Room was beautiful, clean and spacious! Workout room had brand new equipment. Surrounding area was very nice with Busch Gardens parking less than 2 miles away and a delicious seafood restaurant within walking distance!

Once I got in the hotel I had to clean the toilet for my boys to use because there were old urine on and unde the toilet seat. The bathroom sink kept over flowing. The sofa was old and dingy. I didn't even take a shower because of how disgusting the room was. Never again

We paid for a suite but ended up moving to a cheaper room because the sofa bed was all springs. The mattress was ridiculously thin. Of course, since I had prepaid through Expedia I could not get the refund on the more expensive room. What a scam

This hotel looks a little outdated. The service was good though, and they have made attempts to renovate the rooms (marble in the bathroom, newer sheets), but you can still see the old dinginess. I would not have had any complaints had it not been so overpriced. I booked on hotels.com and apparently got a deal, but for the price I paid, I would expect something significantly better. ...

The staff was greta, helpful and professional (which I might add is a nearly dead concept in this day and age.) Definitely the nicest housekeeping staff I have evr come across. Only negative about this hotel is that it's too close to Bush Gardens and we made the mistake of making reservations during opening weekend. Parents don't believe in discipline of children any more than most places...
