Help us make it rightNoted as George Washington's favorite for seafood, Christiana Campbell's Tavern is as alive today with conversation and political discussion as it was in the times of the founders. Menu items feature crab, shrimp, fish, and scallops
Experience the magic of Colonial Williamsburg by experiencing the food of the original colony. Christiana Campbell's Tavern specializes in seafood fresh from the ocean. Rich with history, the tavern was a favorite with George Washington. Owners have tried to recreate the atmosphere of the colonial times using a mixture of information obtained through artifacts, description, and other period...
Across the street from the Capitol, this tavern serves traditional seafood from the rest of the British colonies of North America. Mrs. Campbell's favorite dishes are sherried shrimp, scallops, and lobster, as well as the Waterman's Supper and lump crab cakes—the tavern's signature dish. Classic sides include cabbage slaw, spoon bread, and sweet potato muffins. An evening's entertainment might...
Installing her tavern in the spot Jane Vobe abandoned for the King's Arms was a good move for tiny, rotund Christiana Campbell—hers became George Washington's favorite place. The tagline on the "Bill of Fayre" is "Giving Satisfaction to TRAVELERS and TOWNSPEOPLE with a Taste for SEAFOOD," which means the way to choose between this and the King's Arms is by what you feel like eating: You get a...
One block behind the Capitol, Christiana Campbell's Tavern is "where all the best people resorted" around 1765. George Washington recorded in his diary that he dined here 10 times over a 22-month period. After the capital moved to Richmond, business declined and operations ceased. In its heyday, the tavern was famous for seafood, and today that is once again the specialty. Campbell's is an...
We have been here several times to celebrate our anniversary, and will undoubtably return for another.
Christiana interpreter was entertaining, but would have liked more info on tavern life and her life
Excellent place to go too. A must to try would eat there again like we have in the past
The historic ambience was authentic, the service superb, and the food scrumptious!
Family vacation looking for authentic experience.
We went for the spectacle, not the food. But the food was just too mediocre for the prices (entrees $30 and up) and the spectacle was disappointing. We had one strolling, period guitarist stop by the table for a couple of minutes. Not worth it, sorry to say, but if it's your first time in Williamsburg, fine to try one of the historic restaurants. Just lower your expectations and understand...
Service was awesome from the greeting at the door to the farewell when we left. Our server Sharonda was great! The food was cold and not worth the price.
Server was awesome. Food good, sweet potato muffins - awesome!
Service and food were fantastic. I ordered the water and plate. Best fried chicken that I've eaten in a restaurant!
Nice historic atmosphere with actors and live music. Their specialty is seafood, and since I have an allergy, I had the steak which was mediocre. However, I did enjoy the local beer and colonial spoon bread. Overall, a fun treat for evening dining while visiting Colonial Williamsburg.
This is our favorite Christmas Eve restaurant. We have been there at least 8 years and love it every year....very special
As always WONDERFUL, DELICIOUS,TERRIFIC! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good food, great service, and a wonderful, educational experience. The colonial Williamsburg taverns are not to be missed!!
The entire experience was wonderful, and was highlighted by our server, Harold (?) who has been there for 30 years, he told us-just great. Just wish it was a bit less expensive!
Wonderful restaurant. We loved it. Came here on the 23 of December and it was the perfect combination of festive and romantic. Because of the closeness to christmas it was very busy and the original table they sat us was next to a large noisy party of 10. I asked if they could possibly move us to somewhere quieter and they accommodated us immediately. I can't say enough about the service and...
We went for Christmas Eve. The cod was ok as was the fried chicken. Crab cakes were better. For the price, we expected better food. The music and Christiana's dramatic presentation was great.
We ordered the rock fish special which had probably been prepared ahead of time and was somewhat dry, not up to their usual standards. On a scale of 1 to 10 their food is usually a 12, this time I would rate it an 8. Good, but I wish we had chosen something from the menu.
You go for the history and the actors portraying colonial characters. Do not go for the food. To be fair, the restaurant is slammed with diners. Mostly tourists. Try the spicy chowder.
very nice did not rush you staff was attentive food was great fresh good size pa-portions nice relaxing atmosphere
Amazing and magical evening!! Food and ambiance were exceptional.
Everything AWESOME !!!!!!! No need to waste time with words...
We are in Williamsburg for Christmas and always enjoy eating at the taverns, and like to go to Christiana Campbell's. I like the fried chicken which I ordered the other night and it was delicious. My husband and our friend both had seafood and enjoyed it too. One thing I always forget is that this tavern is very noisy for some reason - to the point of having a hard time with dinner...
Excellent service, historically authentic, great food.
Went here with large family group. Ambience was lovely. You felt like you went back in time. Staff very courteous, friendly, helpful. Server was excellent. Wish I could say the same for the food. While the portion size (plates) were large, the food was just okay. Had heard the crab cakes were outstanding; I've had better. The cod was gamey and the veggies were luke warm.
We love the atmosphere of this colonial tavern, just around the corner form the Williamsburg Colonial Capitol. Food is excellent, service is personal and friendly, comes with Colonial entertainment and is a must do every time we are in Williamsburg.
This has been our "special occasion restaurant" for years. This year it was a huge disappointment. We talked all day about the great meals that we've had there, and this year is was just okay. My husband had the seafood fricassee and I had the crab cakes. Both were just bland. Still love the ambiance, but not worth the price now.
Good food and a great experience. The staff was attentive. The period entertainment was well done. They played music and spoke to us giving us an historical perspective on the music.
Our server,Pooh, was very attentive and friendly. Our meal was delicious .
Service was outstanding, food was great, the ambiance was special, and it was worth the journey from Green Bay to Williamsburg to have the opportunity to dine at Christiana Campbell's Taveran.
Great food, service, ambience and overall wonderful experience.
Our 30th Wedding Anniversary (engaged in Williamsburg!) - a special evening, made even more special at Christiana Campbell's Tavern. A romantic table for two with the love of my life. A personalized 30th anniversary card from Christiana herself. We had a magical day and simply love Colonial Williamsburg.
Exceptional dinner, service. Enjoy every year we come here.
A very special family tradition of visiting CW during the holidays that had been thwarted for a number of years finally was over as we had a most enjoyable visit on Dec 20th. We chose to dine at Christiana Campbell's Tavern due to our love of seafood.
The fish was old and smelly.
It was our second time dining at this tavern. I love their seafood fricassee, mini muffins, fresh bread and spoon bread. This time I ordered crab cakes and they were good, too. Steamed vegetables were a little crude but perhaps, this is how this dish was served in the 18th century. My husband, however, was less than impressed with the Water-man dinner of chicken with no seafood in it. We loved...
Neither my husband nor I were thrilled with our food. I ordered fish and fish is not suppose to be very fishy tasting I have been told if it is fresh and my food was terribly fishy tasting. I would not order that again.
Always a special place for me to go, whether it be an anniversary or Christmastime dinner with a friend. Williamsburg is such a beautiful place, especially during the holidays. After strolling Duke of Gloucester street and admiring the gorgeous natural door decorations, we always highlight the evening with a wonderful meal at Campbell's Tavern. We love the historic Christmas spirit!
We had a very nice meal and evening at Christina Campbell's this past week. The only complaint is that we arrived about 20 minutes early and it was very windy and cold outside. They had not waiting area inside the restaurant. Thus we had to go back to our parked car, which was not close to the restaurant to keep warm.
The food was delicious, "Christiana" was delightful, and our waiter, Howard, was very personable.
We were seated in the basement - which turned out to be a gem. We had one of six private booths. The cellar area had character. Our server made it a very pleasant evening. The soup was excellent.
This charming restaurant sets the mood for a true feeling of eating at George Washington's favorite restaurant. Greeted by the staff in costumes, our waiter Tim, as he referred to himself as tiny Tim, had a wonderfully fun yet professional way of recommending wonderful dishes and making sure the evening was a special experience.
There was even sing along tavern...
We always go to Campbell's Tavern on our annual trips to Williamsburg. We especially love the brunswick stew and the house ale.
If you've got to choose only one tavern at which to dine in Colonial Williamsburg, choose Christiana Campbell's. This tavern offers delicious seafood dishes among other options, set in an authentic 18th Century atmosphere, complete with live entertainment. Whether you choose Christiania Campbell's or not, be sure to dine at least once at a CW tavern to complete the full...
You've heard the phrase, "tourist trap"? This place is the a epitome of one. We wanted my youngest granddaughter to have the experience of a Williamsburg dinner. Server put the utensils on the table by putting his fingers all over the eating part of the utensils. Pretty disgusting to start. What was worse, he appeared to have a cold! My...
Christina Campbells is the best place to eat a evening meal there food is fabulous.
their specialtiy is seafood. Every meal includes spoon bread that is wonderful the flavor is fabulous. The last time I was there I meet Christina she was very gracious and nice. I will be in Williamsburg this spring and can't hardly wait to go to...
We always enjoy a meal in an "official" tavern when in Williamsburg. Here the seafood is the star. I had the night's special - tilapia - and my partner enjoyed the cod, which he said was exceptional. The spoonbread is amazing, as always. The waitress and hostess, in character and costume, were delightful.
When visiting the tourist sites in Williamsburg one must remember your in a tourist area and it's all about the money. We were invited by friends to celebrate a birthday and also my wife's. First it was the reservations for the hotel. Someone who was to be in the party had made the reservations. To be respectful of the party...
We made reservations here, wanted to eat at one of the Taverns for dinner. I loved it here. It's very colonial in decor, so don't expect anything fancy. I thought the service was average. But it was nice when Mrs. Campbell comes to explain how people dined back then, etc. The food was great and there was a gentleman playing...
The entertainment started with a welcome and a brief history lesson from "Christina" before we entered the restaurant. We were with a group of about sixteen and were seated at a long table in a small room with another party of around ten people. The noise was so loud, conversation was impossible. The food was mediocre. My wife and I...
This a very interesting restaurant, it is built on the site of an old rooming house that George Washington stayed at and had meals. All authenticated.
The dining room has no electricity only candles.
Very Limited menu, with only two seating's for dinner. Reservations are must.
The food was excellent, daily specials offer best selection.
Expensive $125 plus tip for...
Tavern specializes in seafood. The menu isn't extensive but the offerings are excellent. I had the grilled salmon and shrimp and my husband had the seafood fricasee. Both entrees were excellent. The muffins, bread, and spoonbread served with dinner are all wonderful. Service was very good. The woman playing Christiana Campbell is excellent in her role and comes into each...
If you like food and history this is a great place to go! The food and staff transport you back in time and brings alive the early beginnings of our country. Christiana Campbell herself makes an appearance and shares about her inn and it's famous guests.
Specializing in seafood you need to try the seafood fricassee or the shrimp randolph.
We were seated in the basement, which turned out to be fantastic! Cozy and small, white painted brick walls, only six tables and two dedicated servers. Our server was Pooh, and she was just fantastic! We enjoyed her spirit as much as the meal! And the food was wonderful.
We had a family dinner at CC's on a Friday night. Staff were great, and if you are going for the show, you will have a good experience. Food is very pricey for what you get and not very good. Menu is almost all seafood, so carnivore's will be challenged. I had the rib eye, which was about 5/8's of...
We we're there on a rainy night
The service was wonderful, the reenacters were great and so in character. The food was wonderful we started with a shared oyster salad then the cod with crab dressing followed by the not to be missed desert chocolate cake with raspberry sorbe.
We were very disappointed with this restaurant. The food was not worth the price. When our dinners came, the vegetables were hard and not very hot and the crab cakes were only adequate. Service was excellent, and hearing "Mrs. Campbell" talk about buying the tavern was interesting. Our experience was surprising as we had gone to the King's Arms Tavern...
Great food, ambiance and service. Historic tavern in Colonial Williamsburg offering delicious seafood meals. Our waitress (in colonial attire) was pleasant, attentive and efficient in every way. Our selected meals were perfectly prepared and presented.
This is a good place to go to experience the colonial times. It's a little pricey for what you get and the food is somewhat limited to the colonial day foods but over all the experience is a must at least once.
We had dinner last Thursday night to celebrate my wife's birthday (her choice). Christiana's does a great job of bridging history and modern dining.
This is the venue in Colonial Williamsburg that specializes in seafood. We all had good seafood dishes, although my Mahi Mahi was a touch overcooked. The crab cake was very good. They also have a great...
We have dined at the Williamsburg many times over the past 35 years and have found most of the experiences excellent. The food is consistently very good. What makes the difference is the service. My wife and I always share an entree because frankly neither of us has the capacity to finish an entire entree. Occasionally we will have a...
We had dinner here during our stay in Williamsburg. The food was excellent, we had a stuffed seafood dish and the hickory grilled tenderloin, so tender you could cut it with a fork. The ice cream was to die for--best we've ever eaten. Since we were staying on property and they knew we were celebrating an anniversary, our server presented...
Great seafood , wonderful historic ambiance. Enjoy the atmosphere and feast served here. Liked this restaurant the best of the Colonial Williamsburg restaurants.
if you are visiting Colonial Williamsburg you should really try and eat at one of the period restaurants the menu has food from the old, colonial, times on it. food is very good and a real fun experience for all
We went here for dinner. The seafood was delicious. It was nice to step back in time seeing and here how things were in the historic times. We loved Mrs. Campbell's stories. It made for a very special evening.
On our recent trip to Williamsburg, we experienced the tavern twice: for dinner and for the Holiday Tea. We (my husband and two daughters, ages 11 and 9) found it somewhat disappointing for dinner. The service was good and food was fine, but we didn't think it was anything special and definitely not worth the price. We had much better...
Love the service, the ambience, and the food. Pooh, our server on two recent visits is the best! We love the muffins, the spoon read, the crab cakes, etc. And the cocktails! Can't go wrong here
Christiana Campbell's has always been a traditional stop when visiting the Colonial City. This visit however was disappointing. Yes, the uniqueness of this Colonial Williamsburg tavern was still there and as always a treat, but the quality of the dinner on this particular night was not as I have remembered. My order of flounder with shrimp was only lukewarm when...
My wife brought my son and I to this Restuarant as a birthday gift. From the moment we reached the porch to enter, we had excellent reception, service and food. I had the "Waterman's Supper". Every item was perfectly prepared and flavorful. Vegetables were warm and crisped. Not over cooked. Spoon bread was a delight. Our waiter, Howard was personable,...
Dined here on January 2. Food was wonderful and hearty, great fried chicken, seafood-oriented dishes., steak. Nice selection of period cocktails , hot buttered rum and hot toddies. Very attentive to food allergies, chef came out to speak to us. Waiter was excellent and informative of the history. Had a musician perform with the recorder and the patroness , Ms...
I took my daughters and granddaughters to the tea. We had rented costumes for the day, so the 4 girls (ages 5-11) were dressed for the occasion. Mrs Campbell came into the room and had the girls come up and learn a dance. Our room sang carols, had musicians play for us and heard customs and gossip of the 1770's....
This is such a delight! The food is so tasty, and the setting is just wonderful. It is a step back in time, but only with the good parts. The seafood is a sure bet for deliciousness. The wait staff and musicians also made this so enjoyable. Can't wait to go back.
My wife and I had dinner at Christiana Campbell’s Tavern. She had the stuffed trout, and I had the flounder and shrimp. Both entrees were delicious, but we both thought the barbecue and shrimp po-boy at Shields tasted better. The atmosphere (wait staff in costume) and service were excellent. Our waiter was very friendly and showed us the best way...
Had Christmas eve dinner. Our waiter Howard was the best, a real pro, our meal was really good! I was worried because some of the other area dining establishments are very pricey tourist traps, but not here. The chowder was great and I had the special. others ranged from crab cakes to the seafood fricasse
Mrs Campbell visited with us. Having these characters available adds to the ambience of the restaurant. The roaming minstrels adds to the enjoyment if the meals. I had the ribeye steak and it was huge in size and cooked perfectly. My wife had one if the fish dishes and enjoyed it immensely. Always a pleasure to visit Campbell's Tavern.
Campbells is the top-shelf and most expensive of the taverns in Colonial Williamsburg. Most impressive is the service. The long tenure of many of the service staff- 10+ years - is evident in the knowledge and the great service of the staff.
This isn't a place I would recommend for children, it is expensive and the atmosphere and ambience would...
We had a wonderful time AGAIN, Christina's team combined to provide a wonderful dining experience during their afternoon tea, complete with singing songs, dancing, and merriment! The food is...
Eat by candlelight with servers in period costume. Small but delicious menu. Strolling fiddler provided period music. Stuffed trout great
All food in colonial Williamsburg is expensive, and I don't mind paying a little more to help the foundation, but $36 for a couple small chunks of beef is too much. The service was good, and I enjoyed the harpist.
I had be somewhat skeptical as to how good this would be given that it was a part of the Colonial Williamsburg experience. I was pleasantly surprised. The food and the service was excellent and the evening was very memorable!
My wife and I booked Christmas dinner reservations a few months ago when we decided to come for Christmas holidays. Once we got here we were able to get a reservation for the day after Christmas as well. Christmas dinner menu was the same for all the taverns in Colonial Williamsburg, and we enjoyed having the prime rib of beef...
I was lucky enough to get a ticket for the Christmas High Tea at Christiana Campbell's Tavern in Colonial Williamsburg. Unbelievable! We gathered on the porch after checking in with the hostess. When tables were ready, guests were welcomed by Christiana herself, dressed in appropriate historical costume. A harpist was playing as we entered. Not only was the tea, sandwiches,...
My family and I have been to all the Taverns in Colonial Williamsburg for supper and Christiana Campbell's is the BEST!! All the Taverns are pricey so why not spend your money with the best sweet potato muffins, rolls, spoon bread (like bread pudding with grits) and featured dishes. All of us were happy with our meals. At the other...
An outstanding Christmas dinner, with colonial period service. Turkey, prime rib, or salmon, Rummers & Whiskey cups, good start to finish.
This Christmas week Mom and I were in Colonial Williamsburg. The meal started by being seated right as we arrived. Yay reservations paid Off! We started with delicious local oysters on the half shell. These were so fabulous! Then the main course came - rainbow trout was local and perfectly cooked, Mom had the seafood jumble which would have been...
Used to be very good, always over priced, but the service, ambiance and food made up for the unreasonable price. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has gone down hill, as has the ambiance and service. I can't say not to go there because it's so bad, but it's so mediocre that I couldn't justify spending the money. I can...
I have been coming here for the past 39 years. The atmosphere gets you in the Christmas spirit. The food is a little expensive but tastes great. Original Christmas music from the 18th century is played. It's located in the Historic District behind the capital building.
Food is overpriced and mediocre. Waitress was very good. Violinist was very good. Huge draw back - had to go down a long flight of stairs, leave the restaurant, and cross a small alley to use the rest room.
We have been to Colonial Williamsburg a number of times over the years and generally tend to forget about dinner reservations in advance. But not this time. Thus our first visit to Campbell's was worth the wait! Definitely the most tasty food offerings among the historical taverns. Seafood fricassee is fabulous! A little costly? Yes, but if you consider the...
We are locals and decided to celebrate our anniversary the "colonial way". We really enjoyed the food, atmosphere and especially the entertainment. The tenderloin and the baked flounder with shrimp ragout were both excellent. When Mrs. Campbell came to our room to talk to everyone, she looked at my husband and I and said "I hear thatsomeone is celebrating their...
As a Williamsburg resident and frequent visitor to Colonial Williamsburg, I expected much more. Seat in the dungeon (basement), the Salmon Salet portion was skimpy and missing the boiled egg....
This is in the Historic Area so we had only one candle to read the menu by. But it was sufficient. We shared the fried oyster appetizer which was nicely cooked and consisted of six large fried oysters over a salad. I got the Watermans Supper, which came with a bowl of chunky clam chowder, followed by a platter of...
All good meals require great service and "Pooh" provided that from start to end. Four diners and all meals were outstanding and were accompanied by live music and an entertaining visit from Mrs. Campbell. The locally brewed draft was very good and we finished by sharing the tasty apple dumpling.
During weekends, holidays and peak season reservations are a must.
Anned. Not as good as all the hype. Food was not hot. We sent back the child's portion. The seafood in the casserole was overcooked.
Christiana Campbell's is a recreation of a tavern that was usual
in the American colonies especially in Williamsburg.
It is pricey, but the menu is unusual. There are many items on the
menu that you will not find anywhere else. Their cider is wonderful.
The waitstaff are dressed in authentic period costumes.
We have found it a perfect place to take our foreign visitors and...
This is a typical tavern in the restored area of Williamsburg.
It's unique because of the historic significance and although
the food is a bit over priced, it's always good & a bit different
from most the restaurants located on 60. You get a great feel for
the history of the area here & you'll have the opportunity to try
some dishes that were probably served during the colonial era.
The...
Turkey day.. It was our turn to host Thanksgiving this year. Since it was our first here in Williamsburg we thought it would be nice to go to one of the taverns for dinner instead of doing the same old cooking of ye-old-bird at home. We made reservations for Thanksgiving for 11 people at C.C. and kept it a secret so it would be a surprise to a few of the guests. The whole gang was milling...
This is a tourist place geared for eating in the old style 1750's. Great idea for historic colonial Williamsburg. Try it once on your visit. Food was good and plenty of it. Service was fair. On 1-10 I give it a 6.
Great place, food could be better. Title says it all. When you're inside Colonial Williamsburg it's a novel place to eat. Kids love it. Service is beyond good: it always feels like the entire place is waiting on you. The period setting is just cool.
One block behind the Capitol, Christiana Campbell's Tavern is "where all the best people resorted" around 1765. George Washington recorded in his diary that he dined here 10 times over a 22-month period....
Fun and Neat. We ate upstairs and felt the history of the place, this makes for a fun time. Plan to go back this summer. The only thing that bothered me was a person at a table next to us kept talking to us, non stop. But we did not want to be rude to her - she was there only with her grandson and wanted adult conversation. What can you you do! But the food was great.
Huh? 4 star average? I'm only giving this place 2 stars because the wait staff was great... We had a reservation in November, not hardly the peak season, but had to wait 20 minutes beyond the…
As a child, I learned to love the garden areas behind the restaurant. Almost 30 years later, I still appreciate it greatly.I love this restaurant so much. I love that even though I have moved away,…
The boyfriend and I needed an adults only weekend away from angsty teenage boys, and we were looking for someplace to go that wasn't too far away...so we settled on Williamsburg, since I really like…
Who goes to Williamsburg on the spur of the moment over a holiday weekend? Yeah, we do. because we're nuts like that. And then who hopes for last minute reservations? Yes, that's right. The nutty…
First off, make sure you call for reservations for this place, during the on-season, as it will be booked up pretty fast. We were fortunate to get dinner reservations for five adults and a baby on the…
We were seated in the back garden - a really beautiful atmosphere, but too many bees. The waitress waited a good fifteen minutes to give us our slightly dry muffins, but she did ask very politely…
I had maccaroni and a mixed green salet. The atmosphere made me feel like I...
Like nearly everywhere in Williamsburg, it's not the cheapest place to eat, but there's good food to be had. The entrees we had included a starter (tavern slaw, a pickly concoction) and a dessert (a…
Great Crab-cakes and fried chicken. Food and service tends to be better than the other taverns. We are locals and this is the place we take visitors.
Excellent tavern food and service
the best
Dined at Christiana Campbell's while on vacation. Food was absolutely delicious, atmosphere wonderful. Only drawback was that we felt rushed.
Not much has changed since George Washington frequented Christiana Campbell's Tavern for its delicious seafood in the 18th century. Lively conversation and learned discussion still abound, and today's menu items could easily have been ordered by our founding fathers. Dig in to locally sourced shrimp, scallops, and fish, and be sure to try Christiana's famous crab cakes, while listening to...
Noted as George Washington’s favorite for seafood, Christiana Campbell’s Tavern is as alive today with conversation and political discussion as it was in the times of the founders.
Menu items feature crab, shrimp, fish, and scallops
Christiana Campbell's Tavern is a Seafood, American, and Burgers restaurant where most Menuism users came for a family meal, paid between $25 and $50, and tipped more than 18%.
As the balladeers stroll past singing songs of two centuries ago, you will believe you have truly stepped back in time when you dine at Colonial Williamsburg's premier tavern, which was George Washington’s personal favorite. Dine on regional seafood and even George Washington's favorite oyster dish while at this tavern that is open daily for lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended.
This is the place for historical seafood! Regional seafood dominates the evening menu, and many dishes are prepared just the way George Washington would have had them when he dined here. For non-seafood lovers, there are beef and chicken dishes. There are "seatings" at this restaurant, and reservations are made through Colonial Williamsburg. There is a wonderful porch for resting before or...
It is said that this tavern, operated by Colonial Williamsburg, was one of George Washingtons favorites. This restored version of the 18th-century hostelry is a delightful combination of informal Colonial dining, seafood specialties and excellent service. Meals begin with baskets of sourdough bread and sweet potato muffins. During the meal, wedges of warm melt-in-your-mouth spoon bread are...
