Horrible. Don't do a service call. They are way over priced. Go to your local hardware store, bring the old lock, and purchase a new one. It will save you a lot of money.

ADT seem to be a large well established company who have a lot of commercial business and are expanding into the domestic market. As this is a centrally monitored system the kit has to be really good. The internal sensors work by detecting heat with movement so that the chance of a false intruder alarm is limited. Finally I received my ADT-200A and so far the first tests were very positive. I was able to compare on my Optibeams with my K3, FT-1000D and IC-7800. In my opinion the ADT-200A plays in the same class. And the modulation reports, which I received, are all excellent and in no way inferior to the K3. I came home from the grocery store about a month ago and saw a cop car outside my house. As I got closer, I heard the siren going off and figured out what probably happened, but I was still surprised because I didn?t really think anyone would try to break in in the middle of the day. The cop checked my ID and then said that no one was in the house now but asked me to see if anything was missing. The thief did get our video game console, but ADT had given us a $500 guarantee if things got stolen while the alarm was working so all in all it was a happy ending.

ADT alarms system offers many things and but in my experience delivers the least.
The amount I had to pay for the company for being their customer is $8000, not for their service, but for giving some space for their damaged system in my home. The first time that I informed them about the issue, I was tutored how my apartment's power supply has indirectly damaged the system. I had to pay for the replacement, which was the one suited for the building (as I was informed later). But when the same happened again, I was informed the system is not compatible unless I correct the apartment issue....
Immediately after the Installation the sales rep miscommunicated the contract details. The company told me that there is no Contract as such but the rep told me that I am under a 3 year contract..

I am leaving ADT because they have cost in false alarms fees for the last time. The alarm went off I turned it off...but the police were still called...I called and asked them to turn back the police. They asked me for my code - I couldn't remember exactly and gave them my code - I knew it was either code100, 101, 102 etc...it had been 7 years...anyhow I gave them the right code. they then asked for the code AGAIN...I went through the same exercise and they said that wasn't good enough. THEY WOULD NOT CALL OFF THE POLICE. I end up with a 100 dollar fine and they will not reimburse me....
The chime feature lets me know when the kids are coming and going. This is something that I now depend on.
ADT has always been a very professional company that has given me exactly what I contract for. It isn't always the cheapest, but they have never tried to 'scam' me either. They may offer additional capabilities (extra control panels, etc.) at normal costs, but everything has always been at face value. I consider ADT to be the consummate alarm company, but like all others will have customers...
