Founded in 1937, this is one of the country's finest museums of contemporary craft. Throughout the year, works from the permanent collection share space with changing exhibits that might focus on an individual artist or a single theme. Cutting-edge ceramics and jewelry are always highlights of exhibits here, but you might catch a show focusing on crafts incorporating bamboo or an exhibition of...

John Economaki toolmaker exhibit showed some striking examples of very fine wooworking tools. He was an excellent woodworker as well, and there are several examples of his fine work.
The museum was half closed, but we came for the bowl exhibit and it was all we needed. We had read about it in the NY Times and it did not disappoint. It was not trying to be comprehensive of every great bowl in the last 100 years; rather it was mostly or all from a local collector who clearly...
