This club is one of Portland's hottest gay and lesbian spots, but fun even if you are straight. Catering to alternative lifestyles, all through the week you are assured quality entertainment, including a nightly cabaret with male and female impersonators. Open for lunch and dinner, the food menu is short and sweet, with basics like the club sandwich, chicken-fried steak or one of the many...

Editorial reviews from the web (1)

Gay-friendly Portland club scene is sprinkled with a big helping of entertainment and high-energy crowds.

In Short
Here, you get two clubs for one cover charge. On the dance club side, rainbow flags fly high. DJs swimming in neon lights spin '80s, Top 40 and techno booty-shaking beats, while...

"Is this a gay bar?"
"Who cares, it's an awesome bar"
Yes, my friends and i stumbled upon this place during a Saturday afternoon of day drinking. It smelled kinda funky, but there was a pool table and game machines to gamble so we stayed and had several rounds. The bartender was super friendly and so was the clientel. It...

Awesome Drag bar

We came to embers on a recommendation from a friend. We are glad we did. We had some much fun watching the drag queens dance and party. They have a dance club on other side that was also very good.

Ok, so not sure if I stayed here long enough to give it a solid rating but I had to give a shout out... Lincoln, our bartender, was awesome and friendly...

This place has SUCH potential! Always has. Great location, groovy front space with small stage, aquarium bar, seating, poker machines.... Back area is a...

A sad decline

Just one creative, fun person in management could turn everything around. But unfortunately the Entertainment Director would be better employed at a funeral home.

The drag queens perform to the most boring depressing music. Like clockwork around 11pm you'll see a fairly large crowd, lots of wedding parties, etc. Then they'll just peel off and start leaving.

Why? Because they are there to party not listen to a drag queen do a slow version of a depressing showtune.

Pros

+ Music is upbeat; although the same mix over and over;

Cons

- Everything else

This venerable 43-year-old gay dance club has one helluva bar that doubles as a fish tank. About a mile long and as impressive as a movie pimp's shoes, one could literally stare at the little microcosm beneath your beer coaster for hours. Beyond that, there are drag shows and dancing nearly every night in this massive downtown space. Don't come for the food, rather come for the hilarious...
