An "oasis in a food desert", this "sorely needed" Cabin John bistro turns out "enjoyable" pizza and other "all-American" "genuine comfort" fare that will "satisfy almost anyone" – and for a "reasonable price"; despite the "informal", "plain" setting, it's often "jammed", though the "young" servers are nevertheless "attentive."

Wild Tomato Restaurant Review

In this casual offshoot of his Persimmon restaurant in downtown Bethesda, chef Damian Salvatore takes American dining to a whole different crowd in the ’burbs. Located in a small strip mall in the upscale part of Cabin John/Potomac, Wild Tomato can get quite crowded, as folks have learned that the place’s generous portions mean eating well without breaking the budget. Love the food, ambiance and friendliness of this small neighborhood spot. Visited three times this year and plan to come back many times. The food is fantastic. Discovered the chocolate hazelnut bread pudding this time. Yum!

A LOCAL PUB AND PIZZA AND MANY SANDWICHES

My gumbo was a Louisiana style gumbo with bits of sausage, possibly andouille sausage. Customers love their hamburgers, and you can add on bacon, cheese (blue cheese crumbles are nifty), or onion string crisps – live...

Happy hour ROCKED 3pm-5pm. Lovely little place. Nacho's were yummie! You may call to double check to see of they are busy before going. We saw lots of good looking food being served. Bartender did a great job and drinks were fab!!

A Consistently Good Hamburger

This place makes a consistently good hamburger. We live nearby and dine here regularly, and we have yet to have a bad burger. Other menu items, such as fried chicken and meatloaf, can also be good, but the kitchen can be somewhat hit or miss. We will keep returning for the burgers, though.

A Local Favorite

We came here after hiking the Billy Goat Trail. My friend works nearby and suggested this. He frequents it for lunch. They do not take reservations but our table of 6 was seated quickly. Everyone was happy with their meals. Between the 6 of us, we ordered pizza, salad, burgers and mussels. No complaints at all. Everything was fresh and...
