We like to try and eat at local restaurants vs chains whenever we are traveling. White Swan was a find that we both really enjoyed. I had the fried chicken plate and my husband had the barbecue plate.
Our hush puppies were brought out to us quickly and we could tell they were freshly made. Straight corn meal hush puppies....

I eat at this place whenever I get the chance! Though I'm not big on Carolina Barbeque, theirs is very good, but my favorite is their fried chicken!! Most of us have cut fried foods from our diets, but once in a while I like to eat here because the chicken is NOT greasy and has a wonderful crispy flavor!

The waitress brought the hush puppies before we ordered and WOW....they were great, amazingly tasty and not greasy at all! We thought they could not be topped - but the fried chicken and Carolina barbecue were both terrific.
We also had a slice of homemade cake - also delicious. Why on earth would anyone eat fast food when you can...

If you are traveling south on 95 and want a quick stop that is not a chain, this is a good choice. 3 pieces of meaty fried chicken, tasty yams and another side, plus hush puppies and drinks for 2 cost just $11
