The Tradition of American hospitality runs deep at the site of the Washington Crossing Inn. Weary colonists rested here before the ferry trip across the Delaware River. General Washington reputedly dined at this location before leading his troops on the famous Christmas night crossing of 1776. The present-day inn, which preserves at its heart a historic 1817 home, has charmed guests with is...
Although the food is excellent, we were a bit disappointed with the service on this visit. We had reservations for noon, but we still ended up waiting 15 minutes to be seated. The waitress we had was not friendly and rarely checked back to see if we needed refills on water or coffee.
We had high hopes after being greeted by a professional and friendly hostess who seated us at a nice table in a beautiful room. However, it went downhill fast from there. Our server was clearly disinterested in serving us and made it known with her curt attitude and her lack of attention to our table. She barely did anything more than take our order. She never returned to see if we were pleased...

The waitress, Jenn T., welcomed us and asked if we would like to order...

This beautiful Colonial-style inn is supposed to be the last dining place that General Washington visited before the famous battle of 1776. In fact, the Inn itself is a historic landmark and was the halting point for many colonial travelers as well. If history is not your area of interest, then maybe the Inn's beautiful layout will appeal to you as will the food. Visitors can dine on the porch,...
