Over the years I have had mixed experiences with this Dept. Like most all Government related facilities I've had to deal with your experience will be what you make it. Know what is required of you, for what you need from them and everyone gets through a little quicker. I have been trying to get my sons birth cert. since July 08 and it's now November 08. It used to be easy you can not talk to anyone. I did the express that takes 24 hours on line and faxed in the needed info for that and never got it. I sent it by mail and printed the form on line and copy of my driver’s license. They mailed it back and said I had to have it notarized. So O got it...

I tried ordering my daughters birth certificate from here and it took forever!!!! Not only was the cost of shipping a lot (but worth it to get it so fast, so I thought) but they never moved through there own process without our e mails and phone calls! This was a very frustrating process.
