The legendary SR-71 Blackbird spy plane sits proudly outside this museum. The museum, also home to Virginia's Aviation Hall of Fame, has Captain Dick Merrill's 1930s open-cockpit mail plane; airworthy replicas of the Wright brothers' 1900, 1901, and 1902 gliders; a replica 1903 Flyer; and a World War I SPAD VII in mint condition. Kids, especially, love the planes, many of which they can sit in.

Fly back in time at this tribute to the Golden Age of Aviation.

This museum, for it size it pretty good. I've flown military and commercial for 24 years and I've been to many museums and this has a good representation of general and military aviation. Granted...
