Delicious Portuguese cuisine!

What can be said about a restaurant that has been open since 1965? One of the first three restaurants in all of Newark, and one of the original Ironbound restaurants, Tony da Caneca has, if nothing else, stood the test of time. For more than half of those nearly four decades, the Vieira family has made sure that this Iberian neighborhood restaurant has done much more than just that. Chef Jose...

Only 5 minutes from airport hotels the food and service are both memorable! Set is a residential side street neighborhood, Tony's has quiet tables with white tablecloths and crystal at Olive Garden prices for seafood and meat dishes that are flatly wonderful. Whether a business dinner, dining alone after flying into Newark or a quiet dinner with friends the food is the star of the experience.

Portuguese, Lunch: Considered one of the area's best restaurants, Tony da Caneca's menu offers a wide-ranging combination of meat and seafood options. Favorites include veal medallions sautéed with artichoke and prosciutto in Madeira sauce or Alaskan king crab legs served either steamed or broiled. The dining area is nicely appointed and usually busy with content diners. Business casual.

Tony Dacaneca Restaurant can be found at Elm Rd 72. The following is offered: Steak Houses. The entry is present with us since Sep 8, 2010 and was last updated on Nov 14, 2013. In Newark there are 2 other Steak Houses. An overview can be found here.

Tony de Canceca Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner daily. A selection of Portuguese and Spanish dishes are served including a variety of meat and seafood dishes.

Tony Da Caneca, located in the heart of the Ironbound, specializes in Portuguese cuisine and has been headed by the Vieira family for more than 40 years. Stop by for a taste of Portuguese fine dining, including steak, seafood and pasta, served with wine, beer or mixed drinks.

There was a Tony but never a Caneca at this Ironbound haunt; caneca is Portuguese for the clay jars wine was kept in. Chorizo set on fire at your table. Excellent steaks and seafood, especially the formidable grilled prawns.
