The Original Purveyors of the Practical and Hard-to-Find since 1946.
This store opened in 1946 and is still run by the Orton family, though it has become something of an empire, with a large catalog and online business. One room is set aside for Vermont Common Crackers and bins of fudge and other candy. In others you'll find nearly forgotten items such as Lilac Vegetol aftershave, as well as practical items such as sturdy outdoor clothing. Nostalgia-evoking...
Leave yourself plenty of time for perusing the wares of this Weston landmark (found in the center of Vermont, northeast of Manchester), whose old-fashioned appeal will delight even the most sophisticated of shoppers. Billing themselves as "purveyors of the practical and hard-to-find," the Orton family has operated this sprawling smorgasbord since 1946, selling everything from Prohibition-era...
I am always fascinated when your catalog hits the mailbox, all the things you can order that you haven't seen in years ! So I finally decided to place an order, I ordered 3 Gum Drop trees and extra GD to give as gifts and was disappointed in the quality of the tree it's flimsy and cheap looking. I also missed that the Gum Drops were not Christmas/Holiday colors which would have been super cute...
Maybe I live in spoiled times, but I ordered Christmas gifts on the 17th, and customer service just told me not to expect anything to get here until Dec 28th. I felt like I seriously overpaid in the first place, but this was the only place that carried what my wife wanted. The girl with customer service was very nice. I don't plan on shopping with this company again.

Our family favorite was called molasses puffs and you could order it covered in milk or dark chocolate. Anyway, they went out of biz a very long time ago and I now order them from you! You call it sponge candy - it is amazing! Thank you for making this wonderful candy! And we love...
I find it VERY bizarre that this store would have sex toys in their catalog. How random! Parents: make sure that you are ready to have that uncomfortable talk with your children when they innocently flip through this seemingly All-American, apple-pie, squeaky-clean product catalog. But, for those of you who wish to buy your nerdy, Grandma robe and vibrator all at the same place, now you know...
