Built in 1909 by Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt for his mistress, Agnes O'Brien Ruiz, this Grace Hotel property aims to impress, and does. More than 70 early-20th-century paintings, including magazine cover illustrations for Vogue and the The New Yorker, hang in common areas on permanent loan from the hotel's prior owner. The rooftop deck has cocktail service and a spectacular view of Newport Harbor....

It seem we were given the worst...

Our room was mostly updated and quite lovely but don’t plan on using the heater at night as it is incredibly noisy. The bed was very comfortable, the pillows wonderful...

Belated review: stayed here for a long weekend over July 4th in 2015. Traveled with wife, baby, and dog.
Our favorite thing about this hotel was the property itself. The building is beautifully restored. They've kept the historic character intact while keeping the rooms comfortably up to date. The food at both the Conservatory and Muse was quite good.
