Thanks for the compliment. Proper licensing and longevity are a reliable means to prejudge a contractor. In Maryland check with Maryland Home Improvement Commission (dllr.state.md.us) and you can see for yourself who has the proper insurance and bonds to protect the homeowner when the unthinkable happens. I have been working with Universal Floors since around 1999 on numerous jobs. I have found them to be the most professional flooring company I have ever dealt with. If I have a job that requires hard wood flooring, I am going to use Universal Floors.

UNIVERSAL FLOORS has stockpiled the largest amount of salvaged antique wood flooring the Washington area. When a historic home or building is slated for demolition, Universal Floors removes the antique floors, stores them until they are needed and keeps them out of the landfill. These old bones are sorted, cleaned and bundled for the next repair or historic restoration project. Our “choose to reuse” approach gives a second life to the valuable wood. Many of the finest homes and historic buildings are graced with our salvaged wood. This wood can be cut into creative and historic patterns or installed in a straight run.
