A sure crowd-pleaser, Uncle Julio's delights every generation with its lusty fare and happy ambience. It's one of the few local places where high decibel levels really do not distract. Weekend nights are jam-packed. But in the end, everyone is served a gratis chips-and-dip combo. Enchiladas, tacos, sizzling fajitas, chiles rellenos, and even broiled quail emerge with baskets of freshly baked...

Believers say "bueno" to "absolutely huge portions" of this Dallas-based chain's midpriced "Texican" grub, with the "endless" chips and salsa scooping up mucho praise, along with the "obligatory ‘swirl'" (a drink of layered frozen margarita and sangria), all served "quick" in a colorful hacienda-style setting; that parents can bring children and "never feel nervous about them being too loud"...
