Help us make it rightThe food was overpriced, the waiter was less than interested, and the manager refused to make change for us to pay our tab. (we were trying to pay our waiter who was M.I.A.) I have no intention of returning here, or their sister establishment A.W. Shucks.
This place was a disappointment. The atmosphere and food were boring and flat. The service was polite, but lackluster and robotic. We were there for lunch, so maybe that had something to do w/ it. There were so many flies that one took a nosedive into our salsa. No loss though, as the salsa had very little flavor. The other homemade sauces on the table were good though, so perhaps there is some talent somewhere in the kitchen. A young man working in the back came out with his pants hanging so low that we got a great view of his rear end-very unprofessional. It was pretty pricey, and quantity does not equal quality. Hope this place can get in shape and survive, but we won't be back.
It might be a good local hang out/bar, unless you like just to stuff your face (portions are pretty large) food is pretty disappointing; beans taste straight out of the can, rice tasteless and so yellow that looks like they dumped the whole saffron can in it (like it is cheap!). The awkward shredded beef in the tacos taste like pork. Hopefully they will take this comment as a starting point and build from it, because the place is pretty pleasant and I would like to see them succeed!
This is a friendly hip, New Mexican restaurant. The service was friendly and the bartenders make good drinks. They also have a nice selection of local craft beer.
Street Corn, Street Corn, Street Corn.
No matter what else you order, get the street corn.
Food was good. The menu is small but they do those few items really well. Nacho orders are too big for 1 person to finish.
Servers are very nice...
I usually go for the cheap tacos. The price has gone up from $0.75 to $0.89, but it’s still way cheaper than anywhere else. The tacos never agree with us afterwards, but it doesn’t do any real damage. When you order something else, that is...
We've been going here for many years...love the nachos, beer selection, occasional dinners, and Talley, the manager! Check the big chalkboard for beer offerings and specials.
I came here with my boyfriend for Cinco De Mayo. I had heard some great things about it and although it was somewhat hidden, I found it to be charming inside. The menu appeared to be different than most Mexican style restaurants and looked promising,...
Tortilla West, a Mexican restaurant tucked away in West Ghent, is the local favorite for all things Mexican. From the tower-sized nachos to the taco specials on Monday and Tuesday, Tortilla West has quite the following and their loyal customers will be glad to spout off reasons why. Although the restaurant is rather small, the bar more than makes up for space as well as the drink specials...
This is not your average Mexican joint. Thought-out dishes and a huge selection of tequila makes this a locals favorite.
