The sister store to the Threadgill's located on North Lamar, Threadgill's World Headquarters on West Riverside Drive has a similar welcoming vibe plus one big extra - a beer garden. This location also pays homage to the now closed Armadillo World Headquarters next door, which was Austin's main event venue during the 1970s. Inside, you'll find a jukebox, a piano hanging from the ceiling, and...

The Von Ehrics, Dallas' own cowpunk band, are coming to Austin to perform at Threadgill's World Headquarters for Jessie Scott's School Night Sessions on Sunday, October 2 at 9:00 PM. You'll feel like you're eating at grandma's at Threadgill's, one of Austin's most famous eateries since 1933. This downtown location is filled with Austin music memorabilia and offers a fine Sunday gospel brunch. We feel that the massive…

Tunes and tastes rich in local music flavor.

In Short
Both locations of this Austin favorite display beer signs and memorabilia from the famous Armadillo World Headquarters concert hall. The north location is where singer-songwriter...

The only tough decision was what to choose on the menu. The Chicken livers were golden brown and cooked to a crunchy perfection. The fried pickle spears were a welcome change that allowed you to enjoy the pickle instead of only tasting the batter. The Country Fried Steak was so large a portion it needed it's own plate and, unlike...

I was really quite taken by surprise with my lunch visit today. I have been to Threadgills many times over the course of the past 10+ years...it was always very average. I don't know if they hired a new chef or what but they blew me away..Everything was good, from the Texas Caviar, the fries, the creamed …

Good service, food just OK

Despite mixed reviews decided to give this spot a try. The chicken-fried steak was quite good, as were the accompanying mashed potatoes and gravy. Good down-home cooking. Green beans not so much, no seasoning and virtually tasteless. A side salad was unimpressive. My server was friendly and attentive on a Monday night when the restaurant had very few customers.

We ate here last night. Low maintenance interior which is a great setting for families and kids. To start, the give you rolls and jalapeño corn bread with butter. I preferred the rolls as the corn bread wasn't spicy as anticipated and it was a bit to over beaten. Our meals were nicely portioned. BFF ordered …

Brunch and Gospel---Don't Miss it

We had both dinner and Sunday brunch with gospel music here. The dinner offered good BBQ with plentiful portions. The brunch was very large with many offerings including made to order omelets. It is the first time I have had crispy bacon in a brunch line. The gospel music was rollicking and wonderful. Don't miss this experience!

Howdy Yelps, I know the type of T.L.C. that is a main ingredient in Southern cooking well before opening the kitchen at the Armadillo Headquarters. Everyday, my mother Beulah, would cook for 50 children at the nursery she opened. With the taste of mama's cooking forever imprinted on my taste buds and the knowledge that goes into creating it, I opened the kitchen at the Armadillo where touring...

Here you`ll find a place that serves up a southern American fare. Expect the average entrée to cost in the range of $8 to $12, and dress casual.
