This comment has been posted for a long time and we've never validated it by responding, but maybe its time. The good news is everyone has realized how far out there these claims are, and we've gotten a lot of positive feedback because of it. The truth is, the person responsible was evicted from The Pelican Marina in March 2009, and this posting is the result. Come look at our retail prices and compare. We've never lost our beer license. There have been two injuries here since 2006, one was due to ice, the other to negligence. Pelican Marina has pets living here, and as guests, and young...

Poor management. Rude staff. Would be a really nice place if the right people got a hold of it and fixed it up. Transients shouldn't have a problem if just staying for a night, but I wouldn't recommend live aboard's there. To many problems. Id advise The Albemarle Plantation Marina, Yacht Club, or Lambs Marina over The Pelican Marina. Also, if just staying for the night the Elizabeth City water front isnt to bad either. Its in downtown and close to many restaurants and shops!

This place has terrible customer service. The views are breathtaking but the poor and rude service makes me want to never go back. If they would get better employees I would be there every summer!

I absolutly love the Pelican Marina! It is clean, comfortable, and well staffed. Everyone either working or renting is friendly and helpful. The dockmanager has been most wonderful. He is inviting and very knowledgable as he respectfully answered all of my questions and addressed any concerns with a smile. After my first visit I was hooked. Now I frequent the marina and have brought friends and family members there to enjoy the beauty and comfort it offers. It has a family autmosphere and will be enjoyed by me for many years to come. I highly recommend the Pelican Marina.

The Pelican is a wonderaful place. It is staffed by a friendly and knowledgeable people. The dockmaster is flexible and willing to work with customers on a variety of issues. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the restroom and store facilities. The location is great. The people are ""top notch"" and are always professional. I have been to many marinas in my life and this is definitely my all time favorite. It has a relaxed atmosphere combined with great sailing. Prices are fair and consistent with market conditions. I recommend the Pelican to anybody that is trying to enjoy...
