The National D-Day exhibit is awe-inspiring & sobering at the same time. Visitors will be impressed with the statue renditions of the actual D-Day landing that shows the brutality of war and how our veterans should be honored. All visitors to the Bedford area should make it a point to visit the memorial.

We enjoyed our time at the D-Day memorial. However we arrived later in the day and missed out on the last tour. Next time, I would like to take the walking tour that is available. This is also free to veterans. If you are going anytime soon, you may want to see if the Groupon is still available for this...

Striking design stirs patriotism, but "death on the beach" gives context

The focal point, the arch, is both somber and majestic, but it's the details that make this memorial, well, memorable. The multi-sculpture design that takes the viewer from leaving the landing craft to crossing the water, stumbling onto the beach, and then scaling the steep cliff, is very strong stuff indeed. Do not pass this up if you are heading across Virginia. Even better, you have to see this even if it is out of your way, so make it a destination. We didn't take a 'tour', but we spoke extensively to the staff in the gift shop who provided us with a wealth of information. The thought and detail that...

The guide at the memorial was fantastic, interesting and Informative. We went in October and the leaves had turned and the place was breathtaking with the colors of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Peaks of Otter in the background.
