Editorial reviews from the web (9) view all

FiDi diners are “blown away” by this “hidden treasure” helmed by Australian chef Shaun Hergatt, a “calm” showcase for “sumptuous”, Asian-accented French cuisine, “perfectly served” in an “opulent”, “take-your-breath-away” series of rooms; the $75 prix fixe–only dinner may be a “splurge” (unless you’re a “Goldman Sachs employee”), but à la carte items are offered at lunch and in the Pearl Room bar.

Sekt, Play, Reserve Cut, and More Certified Open

1) Park Slope: Otto Zizak, the owner of Korzo and its East Village sister restaurant Korzo Haus, has opened Sekt in Park Slope. It serves small plates of the same Eastern European fare as Korzo, but unlike Korzo, the focus here is on its namesake sparkling wine rather than beer. Status: Certified Open. 651 5th Ave., Brooklyn, 347-987-3670.

I'm amazed to see the reviews for this restaurant. The place is beautiful, but the food was alright, for the prices and all the hipe, it's not worth it. Much better places to dine in NYC. The cocktails were very bad, returned 2 of them, until we decided to drink wine, to avoid yet another disappointment.

Centered around an infinity fountain, SHO's cocktail lounge, The Pearl Room, offers hand-made drinks and small-plates of French-Asian cuisine.

Save Money

The $69 tasting menu at dinner is a great value for food of this caliber.

When to Go

During the week: SHO Shaun Hergatt isn't open on weekends.

What to Drink

A pink sparkling wine called Lucien Albrecht Cremant d'Alsace goes well with most courses, and at $55 it is also one of the few affordable bottles on the wine list.
