Help us make it rightStay away. When purchasing a lot, Texas Premier Title assured us that we would not owe homeowners association dues until we built on the lot - they claimed to have contacted the HOA to confirm this. Several months after closing we began receiving past due notices with interest, late penalties, etc. In order to avoid a lien against the property, not only did we have to pay the HOA dues of nearly $800, we had an additional $300+ of late fees, transfer fees and penalties.
Isn't a title company supposed to protect you from unforeseen liabilities, not create them?\r
