Help us make it rightTeresita's has me like every other latin restaraunt in Va. disappointed me. The service was ok and the food was alright ....but, the main problem is that the food from my country is common food made delicious by simple seasoning. That means it should for the most part be inexpensive and taste great. Thats far from the case at Teresita's. 90 percent of the items on the menu would go for 5 dollar lunch specials in NYC and Puerto Rico. 8 dollars for rice and beans? with no sides? are you kidding me. That plate should be 4 dollars and 7-8 with your meat. I can understand charging a little more for the menu items that take more time and effort but a pernil is not one of them. You marinate the meat, season it again and roast it in the oven. Anyone that tells you different is lying. My country's food is very simple which is why when done correctly it is great. The trouble starts when people try to get to creative and overdo it. In summary Teresita's got me once but I refuse to be overcharged
The only opinion I have of it is, first impressions are very important. My husband and I were going to try this resturant, afterall it was close to our house, but when we got there the employees were hanging around out in front, smoking. Yuck, who wants smoke mixed in with their food. The uniforms looked unkempt, so what does it say about the food? Totally a turn off. It didn't matter if the food was great or not or if the prices were reasonable, it was all shot down by appearances. And by what I have read about the food, prices etc. It would seem to be a waste of our time.
If you like it that way.. go for it.
This is the best food in Town! I have been going to restaurant for nearly a year. Every time my food is perfect. The staff-from waitress, cook to owners--are great. If you come back a second time, you are are remembered. Regulars are treated like family!
