Help us make it rightIn the case of Tallapoosa River Electric Co-Op, in my area, we have the worst service imaginable. At least two outages a month and they think this is nothing to worry about. I have lost many appliances due to surges acccompanying these outages. If you have to deal with their customer service you might get the response I did when I caught them in a falsehood. The lady said "I don't care what you think." and hung up the phone. Imagine that kind of customer service at any major company and you will see that this Co-Op really honestly doesn't care about your problems. Monopolies are hard to deal with. So, when buying a house in the area, ask about who provides your electric service. You do not want this one. I assure you. And yes, you pay a premium for the bad service. They buy electricity from other places and price it up. The extra cost is in providing you with "I don't care what you think" service. That is, if you run your business inefficiently, the customers pay the price.
