Help us make it rightFriends and I found a Groupon for Stove online, and each of us purchased one. When we called to make a reservation, Stove informed us that only one Groupon was allowed per table. This seems crazy to me, and was not in the original Groupon. Stove changed their rules, and so I cancelled there reservation on principal. Now I have to call Groupon to get my money back (and so do my friends). Just a big hassle and very disappointing. Stove left a bad taste in my mouth.... and I didn't even eat there.
A singular restaurant in the historic, re-evolving Port Norfolk neighborhood, tiny Stove defies categorization. It’s part art gallery, part funhouse, but all homage to the Southern roots and classical culinary training of Senatobia, Mississippi-born Sydney Meers. A protean chef-owner who is at once disciplined and unbridled, he makes diners think, whether they’re looking at his irreverent...
This small, quaint restaurant is truly a gem. The menu is so over the top that it is hard to describe. I have never been disappointed with the food or the service. A must do for all.
Stove is a very small place located in Port Norfolk section of Portsmouth and is so fantastic. Make reservations, because there aren't many tables, and you won't be seated without them. Chef/Owner Sydney Meers is a genius in the kitchen. He uses fresh local ingredients, and I've never had anything but exceptional meals there. The wine list is excellent and...
It seems a curious location that is quite modest for its sophistication. My experience was an expensive one and the meal was certainly very good. The patrons...
A unique atmosphere, I enjoyed the chefs choices and interesting combinations of ingredients. Small place, need a reservation.
We love Sydney's cuisine and have followed him all over Hampton Roads. We went for Christmas Eve dinner as our really "special" dining out event, but were slightly disappointed. We had Rockfish and the pork smorgasboard and while it was well-prepared and tasty, it just didn't seem to measure up to his lofty standards. There was no "wow" moment and...

Small and elegant, yet friendly and casual, Market Fare has a neighborhood feeling yet exudes a warmth that would make anyone welcome. The owners frequently take your order or stop by to check on your meal. The kitchen, headed by young chef Daniel Tackett, turns out imaginative dishes that change with the seasons. Breads and desserts are homemade, and theres an impressive wine list. Tucked...
