The Teen Center, with sites in St. George and Great Kills, provides New York State-licensed outpatient alcohol/drug treatment exclusively for teens and young adults, including the children or family members of alcohol or drug abusers. The program provides counseling, treatment, support and other services in a non-judgmental, healing environment. Clients acquire the life skills to learn, work and play without bowing to peer pressure or continuing their dependence on chemical substances, and gain the insights and ability to grow into responsible, productive adults. Also offered is a specialized treatment track for youth challenged with both chemical dependencies and emotional problems (MICA), with the goal of preventing inpatient or residential placement.
