Help us make it rightThe first thing you need to know is when you arrive at Colton's Point and see the museum, there is no place to park; that is, unless you know to drive a little further along the waterfront, turn left at the first street you come to and then make another left to go into the parking lot at the back...
Nice little museum. Staff knowledgable. Exhibits well put together. Admission prices very reasonable.
While exceptionally significant, as the place relates to colonial American history, this museum pales in comparison to the Piney Point Lighthouse Museum. If presented with an either/or choice, choose Piney Point.
Beware - the water taxis to the actual island only run from 10-3, in the summertime, which is a good two hours short.
The museum was where you bought tickets to the lighthouse tour and water taxi... seemed to be part attraction since lighthouse and museum and taxi all priced inclusive.
In fact the museum could have it's own fee due to the wonderful information inside. Many pictures, documents and a short informative video. The lady and gentleman working there that day were...
Had a special interest in this museum because of family history. Staff was very welcoming and chatty. Well-done video and exhibit. On certain days there's a ferry to the island. Interesting.
