We rode our bikes to Kenosha from the Chicago area for the July 4 holiday. All of the regular hotels had jacked up prices, especially those on the lake front. The Southport B&B had a great price point and a perfect location. Close to the lake (about 3 blocks) and downtown (about a mile). The room is a bit dated...

We stayed here on a Friday night. The owner was nice and brought in bagels and fruit that we could make for ourselves in the morning. The room was clean and cozy. It had sort of a clean farmhouse feel to it. I would definitely recommend it for a low-key, quiet stay.

We booked a room because we had no water for the night because of a plumbing issue. The room smelled absolutely awful and full of smoke. There wasn't even any drawers in the dressers. We ended up just taking showers and heading back home for a good night's sleep. The carpets were also gross and heavily soiled there.
