Help us make it rightI really enjoyed a great bar-b -que sandwich and a salad. Sonny's is a good place to eat. They also have two bar-b-que places in small buildings in Luray and Mt. Jackson.
This restaurant is west of Luray Caverns on a bend in the road.
We both ordered the beef brisket sandwich and both enjoyed it tremendously. He loved the cole slaw and I loved the French fries. More than enough food for the price.
We contacted Sonnys Place and advised there would be 18 people coming in on a Saturday for lunch . There was no one even in the restaurant being served and that should have been a sign . It took over an hour and fifteen minutes to get an over cooked hamburger with the wrong sides. The service was terrible ....
Stayed nearby and decided to try out Sonny's - and were soo glad we did. Jill and her husband were excellent hosts, his cajan crab with shirmp soup was awesome - we even got some to go to enjoy the next day! Ribs and NY Strip were tender and you could definitely taste the smokiness from his wood meat smoker...
We had the $19.99 surf and turf special and the baby back ribs. Both were delicious. The server was knowledgeable and recommended some great beer selections. However, the food took a long time to cook, but was worth the wait.
Sonny's Place was founded in 2007. Sonny's Place specializes in Retail - Family Restaurants.
