The architecture and craftsmanship of the home was amazing. To think I stood in a home that was built in the early 1700's and has survived all these years and is still 90% the original wood and brick. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and had great stories to tell.
Our tour guide was wonderful. He was so pleasant & passionate about all of the information that he shared. He seemed genuinely happy about our visit-even with a 5 year old in tow.
Home has been meticulously maintained by the state to preserve historical content. The tour guide obviously loves the home and can answer any questions thrown at him. Shows how things were built to last back then. Purchased the combo ticket to also tour Bacon's Castle the same day. Worth it to make sure history is preserved for years to come.
