I hired Brendan to complete a fence install in August. We meet several times to discuss what the project plan was from start to finish. All deadlines where meet and the finish project is AMAZING! It really changed the look of my property. Not only did he complete the original project but after looking at the fence I upgraded our mailbox to match and Brendan was happy to assist with that too (and only charged for the supplies on the extra project, wow). I saw nothing put professional, honest, and a hard working contractor and crew while the project was working. All trash was removed and my yard was left in beautiful condition. I would highly recommend this contractor and I have!!
2 1/2 Months to do a simple 250 SQFT Fence. Couldn't follow simple instructions, did not supervise his work crew and is full of excuses. I do not believe he owns a level or a snap line. My fence is the laughing stock of the neighborhood. I have a gate that when opened the post and gate lean to a point of coming off. The gaps under my fence are so bad I have to use large rocks to keep my dogs from escaping the yard. I spent way to much for shotty workmanship. DO NOT USE THIS MAN!!
Bottom line: Brendan Cooper built me a gorgeous fence and deck but he and his crew were no shows for numerous stated milestone/completion dates and only gave me an excuse once I reached out to him.
I am a very reasonable person but to no-call/no-show again and again is just now how one should treat their customers...especially since I gave him 20% more than requested for the deposit. He said I'd be enjoying my fence and deck on the 4th of July, but the job didn't wrap until August 8th, and I still have some chain link sitting on my front lawn that he said would be hauled away. Also, haven't seen anyone from the city show up to do the final inspection of my deck as he stated. Again, no heads up of a delay and haven't gotten any replies. I expect ill have to get rid of the chain link myself and question whether initial inspections were even done.
He did build me a ramp for my shed and remove foliage that was between the chain link and my neighbor's free of charge. However, I ended up having to pay an additional $150 to remove additional foliage on the other neighboring side that he said needed to be removed in order to put the fence there. I am happy with that having been completed, but this is something that should have been identified before starting the job and included in the original statement of work.
In summary, he and his crew did a good job and was very polite in person. However, missing show-times and blowing through timelines with no heads up whatsoever was the overarching theme of this project. I would not use this contractor again.
I would not use this company for anything! As previous customers have written, Brendan Cooper owner of Scopus Marsh, is not a reliable contractor, nor is he a dependable contractor. He does not adhere to his warranty on his workmanship. Once the job is complete and you are no longer revenue enhancement you are written off. If you have any issues he will not return phone calls,, nor stand behind his warranty. He talks a good game and the prices are reasonable, however, they cost you a whole lot more in the end. He talked a good game in regards to the knowledge that he has with this particular fencing, and in fact knew nothing about it. His work ethic is questionable to say the least. He states that he will be there and does not show. There is no explanation as to why he did not show.
Our fence was not installed properly per guidlines from the fencing manufacturer and the shed has leaked ever since he built it. The shed now contains black mold and the fence is about to fall down. These issues have been ongoing for over a year now, and the issues still have not been resolved. AGAIN, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY !!! S. Dorsett

I DON'T recommend this contractor. After 3 months of waiting, he couldn't properly install a vinyl fence. Fence fell down after 18 months. I had to buy a new fence. Missed timelines, sloppy workmanship and poor materials made this a nightmare experience.

I keep reading reviews that say "don't hire this guy", but I'VE HIRED HIM 4 TIMES!! I've had three cedar fences built on multiple properties and a huge porch addition completed by Scopus Marsh Contractors without any issues. I've also referred Scopus Marsh Contractors to several of my colleagues, friends and neighbors. No issues. We've had delays, sure. But, when the job is dependent on the weather, site inspections, concrete curing or other contractors you can expect some delays. All of my projects were completed on time and on budget. The job site was clean and the crew did quality work....
Hired Scopus Marsh Contractors for some fence work. Project was completed on time and on budget. Quality was excellent. Would highly recommend this company.
I highly caution you from hiring this company. Expect long delays, poor workmanship, inferior materials, unprofessional service, shortcuts, trashed work area, and dissatisfaction with the final job (if it is ever finished).
Beware of Brendan - he will talk your ear off and then fail to produce anything but more talk. He never visited the jobsite while his 2 workers were working despite assurances otherwise.
- He left a check with us to pay his workers, unprofessional at best. After paying the workers they took off the rest of they day citing other jobs they needed to do, after only 30...
