I was dying! In icu he saved me!

I was in a severe accident at work in NC, both of my hands got caught in a 20 ton steel roll press,( its a machine that consists of 3 round 8" solid steel pipes that roll towards each other in a triangle shape, you feed 1/4' thick steel plate into it and it rolls out into round pipe), so needless to say my hands were a mess. The term is "degloved", just what it sounds like, all meat, muscles, flesh, nerves, veins, and all my fingers except my pinky finger were crushed and ripped off, the machine was pulling me into it, another 30 seconds i would have been killed but lucky for me a super hero co worker named "Johhny Brown", heard me screaming and was able to stop the machine. When i pulled my hands back i knew what i was about to see due to the fact i already watched my hands roll through the machine infront of me but it was still horrible to see. Blood was spraying 15 ft from my hands, the ambulance rushed me to my local er where they had life flight waiting, i faded out and went into acoma from sever blood loss, i was out for a few weeks. I was awaken from what i thoughy was the hand of "GOD". But he could be, it was Dr. Schnarrs!! Come to find out, my family had already met with six different doctors whom all wanted and stated my right hand "HAD" to be amputated! I was 23 years old at the time!Thank god for my stubborn family! My sister was in college in VA and had read an article about this great hand reconstruction, this magazine rated him as the best on the east coast and told how he studied under the best hand surgeon in the world, so my sister calls his office, an guess what he was on duty in NORFOLK SENTARA, so they paged him, he came to my room, met with my family, looked over my records and the miracle.
I REMEMBER THIS LIKE IT WAS TODAY!, I STARTED WAKEING UP DUE TO FEELING THIS WARM, FATHER TYPE OF HAND PATTING ME ON THE TOP OF MY FOOT WHILE I LAY UNTILL THEN UNCONSCIENCE, AND I HEARD HIM SAYING THE LAST PART,,, "SURE I CAN SAVE HIS HAND, ITS JUST GOING TO BE ALOT OF MICRO SURGERY, HE WILL STILL GET PLENTY OF USE OUT OF IT"! He was able to save my ring finger as well! And he was right, that was in 1995, since then i have went on to run my own custom car shop, design and hands on building as the "head installer" custom show cars! 6 of my cars i did for customers have been featured in 7 different national magazines, i have been featured myself and my own cars and bikes in 5 magazines and on db drag! Not due to pitty but due to determination and and skills and mainly with the MOST TALENTED DOCTOR IN THE USA! If you ever see my pics, i always have my hands crossed due to i still dont like the looks of missing 8 fingers, but im alive and kicking stronger than ever thanks to him!! IF YOUR SEARCHING FOR A PLASTIC/RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGEON, LOOK NO FURTHER OR YOU WILL NEVER GET THE MOST OUT OF YOU PROCEDURE! I also watched him work miracles on other patients as well over time. My procedure required a visit every week and over 37 operations over a 3 year time period with 2 1/2 months in icu, and during this time i was able to see miracles be done, i watched a lady born with no lower jaw, just top teeth and tongue get a whole lower jawbone, chin, face constructed! The 1st time i met he she coudnt talk just mutter and had to spay her throat often with a water mist to keep her throat moist and the last time i saw her, we were able to have an actual conversation without her useing a pen and paper! He made her complete and gave her a new world, she was able to tell her family how much she loved them after 24 years from birth without talking or being able to eat real food! And theres just so much, i could write a book!!And not to mention i have been a good friend of his now over 15 years and he always greets you with the biggest warmest smile, and the second you see that smile, you get back that lost feeling of hope! I know they say if something sounds to good to be true,,,,, well in this case hes the "REAL DEAL" SIMPLY PUT, HES THE MVP IN MY BOOK! Thank you Dr Schnarrs for giving me a chance to complete my life. Im 39 now and when i think back at what ive done and the love and time ive shared with my wife Jennifer and my family and the things ive done, places ive been, people ive met, im glad he was there to make sure i was able to meet my goals in life!
