As a parent of Ryan Academy, I know that the school year of 2014-2015 is challenging but also rewarding for the students. Because of the overall lack of enrollment for many of the private schools in the Hampton Roads area. Ryan Academy is only offering grades 1 – 5 this school year, but the plan is to resume middle school 6 – 8 grades with-in the next couple of years. The current school staff and HAS are in the process of trying rebuilding the school from the bottom up. What that means is they are working on accreditation's and hopefully using educational technology such as IPads as well as the computer lab to give the students a leg up on learning.
My son has been going to Ryan Academy for the past 2 years and has grown by leaps and bounds academically and socially, the teachers are great with their students and are able to give individualized instructions to a student that may be having trouble. This is what is great in a small classroom setting.
I have never had a problem working with the staff or students that attend at Ryan Academy or Building Blocks. I have been to both schools for three years now. They truly have your child's interest at heart. They treat you like family and keep everyone tight and safe. You will not regret bringing your child here.
