Romano s Macaroni Grill has more than 230 restaurants in Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Japan, Taiwan and the United States. The food is fair at best. although this rating is due to the service better yet the lack of service I received on my last visit. I was seated in a section that was not covered by any one, no big deal, mistakes happen. The problem was that there was a waitress that had the table directly behind, infront and to the right of me literally. This waitress walked past 5 times and said nothing to my party. Finally a waiter from another section came over and inquired about my party being helped - at this time the waitress that had walked past five times said oh I'll help them but the person that has this section has yet to come in. Needless to say my party decided to leave. I won't be returning to this restaurant.
The Macaroni Grill in (Doral) Miami, FL was my favorite restaurant in that area, but I found the one in VA Beach extremely "lacking." Needless to say, I've given them three chances with the same dish (veal scallopini) and haven't seen improvement. By far the best "chain" Italian restaurant is Carrabba's on Lynnhaven Parkway. The food quality is far superior to every other Italian restaurant in the area. No contest!
Disclaimer: I haven't eaten there within the last 12 months, so it might have improved...but I'm not going to waist my money on hopes & dreams.
Great food!! Great Service!! Food is always hot, and staff is always friendly. I love the idea of coloring on the table I have a 4 year old, and it helps keep her occupied... Oh.. and I love it too..

Was looking for a reasonable priced Italian (Ok, Americanized Italian). The food was good and there was more than I or my family could finish. Had extra for lunch the next day.
I visited Macaroni Grill during Restaurant Week. I had a wonderful chicken and over penne with a creamy parmesan and sauteed onions sauce. It was amazing! The bread was good and warm. I don't particularly like the seasonings they put in their bread, just my personal preference. My friend loved the bread.

good food and service, sometimes they have some real good deals on wine. the last time i was there some guy was walking around singing opera i thought i was at a pavarotti concert. really put another level on date night. for the kids its cool because you can draw on the table cloth with crayons.
Went here on for soemthing differant for a change. Had gone to others of this chain in others states and they were fine. Sign out front stated that basically - No Waiting - tables available. However as we entered the lobby area the staff acted surprised and were not ready for anyone too show up. We were second in line....
The place is a great way to catch up with friends. Great atmosphere, good food. Calamari appetizer is a welcome treat as well as the stuffed mushrooms with goat cheese. Servings are well worth it. The Pasta de Mare is a seafood delight. Service could be better. Otherwise, a great visit.
