You might choose this restaurant for its proximity to the Meyerhoff, Lyric, or Theatre Project. Or you might be lured into the adjacent bar, Crescendo, with its rainbow-hued water wall behind the bar. You would expect seafood here, and it's quite good, but the menu also features a wide variety of small plates and appetizers, as well as rich desserts -- perfect for a postshow stop. Tapas with a...

Went to Robert Oliver last night for dinner beofre a comedy show at the Meyerhoff. Everything top to bottom was atrocious. Don't be lured by the interesting decor. I have worked in the restaurant business for over 10 years and never been one to judge having had bad nights myself but will never eat here again without bringing my lawyer! First of all we had a reservation at 8:30 - did not get...

Beautiful restaurant, wonderful food

On a recent visit my husband and I were in awe of the restaurant. The warm, elegant surrounding was a wonderful setting for our night out and the scallops and oysters were perfectly cooked! It was topped off by the gorgeous sounds of a live 3 piece jazz band. Not to be forgotten; our before dinner visit to the bar which was stunning due to the multi-colored water wall with soothing bubbles rising from the bar to the ceiling. We are now regular visitors!

Wonderful!

What an experience! The oysters had to be the best I have ever had and the live jazz was just beautiful. We came in town for a show and were elated to be able to enjoy a terrific dinner right across the street. The bar is not to be missed. I love the sensational bubbled water columns behind the bar it was a perfect mix with my expertly crafted martini! Can't wait to return.

If you are going to the Lyric, Robert Oliver is a decent, close choice for dinner. I made the reservations because the restaurant looked like it had a great interior and menu. The interior was well done, but it looked like the cleaning crew had not been there for weeks. One of the toilet seats was broken into pieces.
We were greeted by a gruff manager who barely said hello and directed us by a flick of the wrist to our table.
The wine and food were adequate, but overpriced for the taste. Customer service was lackluster, and for a party of four, they added an 18% gratuity (that was not...
