Living history outside with the ship and settler's village. Nice inside and sir conditioned musem and gift shops. Worth a visit every several years or so.
It is a good change of pace from the beach scene. I think it is just a bit overpriced for what you get.
he Roanoke Island Festival Park is a recreation of life on Roanoke Island in the late 1500's, and while the material in the park is pretty standard, the kind of sites you see in most places like this, the museum is one of the best I've been to. It is interactive, dynamic, and chock full of information.
The outdoor attractions...
Very nice outdoor venue, to see a concert or performance. Nice to walk the grounds. We could not see the concert that night because we had other reservations, but based on what we saw before the show and heard, if you like the group that is preforming, it is a worthwhile experience!
This was a great place to spend the day with our younger kids teaching them some early American/English history. So much to see and do within a short drive.
