Great professional theater

Average Rating
100

I have been a subscriber for many y8ears...sometimes I may not like the play, but the presentations are truly professional! The theater tries to offer a variety of plays each season, .including a musical, comedies, dramas, classics, at least one new work and one black-themed play....

Live entertainment at its best

We've had seasons tickets for 31 years now, and every year brings intelligent, reasonable, and entertaining theatre. We've plays in NY that started here and sometimes ours are even better. And the beauty of the Wells Theater adds to the power of the acting. Good value for the money.

Very well run and a talented cast

Hidden gem in Virginia Beach and well worth a visit. The staff, performers and director really make this work and clearly enjoy their baby. My wife swears by this theatre and gets season tickets every year. The Christmas season is impressive and puts you in the spirit. Pick a play and enjoy a great performance.

Always very professional

We are season ticket holders to the VA stage. This year, all the plays were very theatrical and highly professional. Sophisticated theater goers will enjoy it. We saw Christmas Carol tonight in an updated version that was very entertaining.

Do Not Miss a Christmas Carol

The acting was above what I expected. Good set and design. I was surprised at the amount and quality of the music, both singing and instrumental. The play is short, less than two hours, so you can plan other activities along with attending the performance.

The Best

Anyone visiting the area while the Stage Company has a play, should jump at the chance to go! This beautifully restored building has some wonderful plays, and the company offers drinks and snacks in the lobby.

Great place to watch a play

This place is perfect to watch a play or musical; intimate, clean and you can see the stage clearly, even from the back of the theatre. Sound is right on, lighting the same. We saw the dress rehersal for the Odd Couple, really neat, can't wait to go back.

Cannot Believe This Theater Is New To This Site

The Wells Theater will be celebrating their one-hundred-year anniversary this coming year. My family and i were fortunate to attend a pre-Broadway production (yes, this regional theater hosts pre-Broadway pieces - they helped launch "The Secret Garden") entitled "Frog Kiss" - we also got to meet their General Manager, Keith Stava. Mr Stava is but one of the many reasons...
