The sea is the subject at the popular Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Center, a massive facility with more than 200 exhibits. This is no place for passive museumgoers; many exhibits require participation. You can use computers to predict the weather and solve the pollution crisis, watch the birds in the salt marsh through telescopes on a deck, handle horseshoe crabs, take a simulated...

This entertaining, educational facility focusing on Virginia's marine environment is a wonderful place to take the kids. Its 45 acres are beside Owl Creek salt marsh, a wildlife habitat. You can easily spend half a day here, a full day to see -- and learn -- it all. Plan to spend at least half of your time in the main building, where touch tanks will fascinate you and the kids, who also will...

It's extremely expensive for the size of the aquarium. We can get the three of us into an aquarium in NC for the price of one person here, plus the Mr. Potato head exibit was a disaster. Too many kids and nobody watching them. The was no sort of order at all.

Loved all the exhibits, but the walk to the marsh building is too long for folks who have already walked through the entire aquarium. A shuttle of some sort would be a welcome addition to those that want to bypass the marsh walk and go straight to the building.

I was disappointed and so was our kids.. We paid $120 to get in and see a few rare animals.. There were more fish and common creatures instead of rare. I wasn't happy you didn't have much hands on the animals.. I also refused to pay $16 for one family picture.. We were done within a hour.. Never again!
