From OpenTable:
TradeWinds is a casual, yet elegant restaurant located on the Chesapeake Bay. We offer a range of entrees including seafood and veal. With outdoor seating our deck overlooks the beautiful Chesapeake Bay and the gorgeous sunsets. We offer a children's menu and Lite Fare for those who want to snack. Seating is also available at the inside bar area which also offers the water...
The food was fantastic.....but the staff were OUTSTANDING! I'm returning again in a few weeks...
The food was Excellent. Lovely atmosphere. We had the Sunday Brunch and enjoyed it very much. Service was very good for a buffet setting.
Located in a dated and worn down "resort" (false advertising ). I would avoid overall.
Would pick some place instead.
This was the 2nd time I have been for Sunday brunch. My family went in honor of my mom who used to dine at Tradewinds each birthday until we lost her on Christmas Day 2 years ago. The food, the wait staff, and the environment were amazing. We'll definitely visit for Sunday brunch again.
Thanks for a great evening. The appetizers and entrees were amazing as usual! And service was top notch as to be expected from this beautiful restaurant with million dollar views
The music was a little too much for us, but we already planned to dine outside. We had such a great time earlier in the year, I decided to bring my fiancée back and proposed on the beach at sunset! Great weather and scenery.
Not up to what I think of as open table standards.
Not quite as we remembered it ; when it's not a grey day it has beautiful View at sunset. Food is okay but overpriced for what it is. The facility is tired and could use updated. Servers were attentive and pleasant.
Another wonderful evening at the bar and dinner! Always love the view and the staff is impeccable.
Overall the food was good but a bit pricey. Really enjoyed the band.
Everything was great; we can see why it's so popular. Great atmosphere, and the food was excellent.
The view of the Chesapeake Bay is spectacular . Waitress was kind and solicitous. Food was good but spare. Prices high for amount of food presented. The menu card should be upgraded. It looks like something one would find in a diner
Even though it was our 41st wedding anniversary, there was no celebration. We wanted a reservation at 5, but open table said there were no tables available. When we got there only 1, yes, 1 person was in the restaurant. 18 year old server Nick was wonderful, but was recommending sandwiches for our supper. We ordered seafood. Wrong choice. For a whopping $23.00 I got frozen, stuffed shrimp, by...
Exceptional as always. Great bar
Had dinner and brunch at Tradewinds. Both were very good. The brunch was amazing. Lot's to select from and decent quality for a buffet. Staff was very friendly.
Wonderful experience as always. I highly recommend their Sunday brunch as well!
Great atmosphere Added Bonus Ed the Entertainer was unbelievable Going back for him alone
We were immediately seated with a beautiful view. The service was excellent and so was the salmon lunch!
After 20+ years we will not return. Service has reached a new low. (think none). food now sub part and no selection. Was a nice quiet place. This visit a loud band that was pure agony to listen to. The only thing they could not down grade is the view. But after dark is of little value. Sorry ...this was our go to place bye bye.....
Went for Valentine's Day dinner. Food was very good however the service was extremely slow. Our waitress and all the staff were very pleasant but had to ask for plates for appetizer, refills on water, never offered any other drinks or refills after we asked, and waited 20 minutes just to get our bill. Beautiful view of the ocean!!! However, it was a restaurant thrown into a hotel banquet hall....
We're party of 3 there because it was my husband's birthday on Valentines. We made the reservations for 9.30 am , because the rest of schedule was booked till 12noon. Restaurant could have shared when cofirming that the brunch didn't open till 10. The service was excellent and the food was great when we finally go to eat. Not all staff were at their station, so we couldn't get the sushi.
This restaurant is always a just miss. We made our reservations about 5 days in advance. We came for the brunch and the view of the Chesapeake Bay for our out of town guests to enjoy. When we were seated, we were directed to the only table next to a wall with no view. The hostess told us that was what they could give us, even though the dining room was less than half full. We refused, so our...
We came here for Valentine's Day. Perfect evening. Too cold to sit outside though.
I assumed that it was a much nicer restaurant than I got when I arrived. We were definitely over dressed in a dress and nice button down. The service was slow and did not come across as friendly. My wine that i ordered came with what looked like sand in the bottom of my glass; I was told they were crystals that form naturally in that type of wine, but crystals would only form if the wine was...
First the good; quantity and variety. Now the bad: service, quality, wait time and pretty much everything else! Have been here for brunch several times but had not been for a while and can only say that it has definitely slipped from what it once was. So there you have your trade off; if you want a lot of food and don't care about the quality or service this is for you-but be prepared for the...
Our reservation was pushed back an hour because of an earlier party. Only a two hour notice was not quite long enough to change the rest of the plans for the evening . Not that it would have helped anyway . Our server was so busy with other tables inside and all of the tables outside . Though he did a good job , he definitely needed some help as it took forever to get refills on our drinks and...
This restaurant was once in years past the elite brunch, however April 26th not so much. For roughly $30 a plate you get cold unattended food, poor service, with waiters openly debating on taking on new customers.
Food was outstanding at Sunday brunch buffet. The piano player was awesome and added a touch of class to a terrific meal. Excellent view of bay as well. Joey was server and he rates a 10!!
The view of the ocean is awesome. The place is a bit outdated and upkept for such a nice real estate location. Yet, they did serve good food for a fair price. Loved the seafood platter. Steak was overcooked. Server was very accommodating. We will visit again!
Great food, excellent service and fair prices. The staff is helpful to make suggestions, take changes to your order and make special orders.
The room was large and sunny with beautiful views of the bay. Tradewinds also had nice views of the bay and excellent food. The service was exceptional and friendly. Our room was always cleaned to perfection Overall....excellent
First off let me say the ONLY reason this place isn't getting one star is because of the awesome view of the ocean and because our waitress Katie was so apologetic and working her butt off serving 8 tables alone. So my wife and I decided to pop in for Va Beach Restaurant Week because we love little …
Good brunch if you can get in. A lot to choose from. I would get reservations around 11 because they are still working setup at 10.
My boyfriend and I were brought here by a discounted coupon we printed from the internet. The place is inside of a hotel, BTW.PROS:- The view was amazing through the huge windows! We dined at night so there wasn't much to see but I can only imagine how breathtaking it'd be while having …
We have been there twice and really like the early bird specials, but on the internet it says it is served with Rolls and Salad or Soup! I mentioned that to the staff on our second visit and they had no clue, so I just let it go!! It seems there is really no management around!! I told them to look on the website …
Since we got engaged at Tradewinds 25 years ago, we decided to go back and celebrate our dinner where it all began! We were quickly greeted and welcomed to our reserved table on the Chesapeake Bay. Debbie was taking care of us and was fantastic......and very honest. I ordered one of the specials and it was very good. Also, the...
Being locals, we can eat anywhere. This morning we called ahead and requested a center table by the window at the TradeWinds, our favorite morning restaurant. Upon arrival, we were immediately met with a big "good morning" by a gracious wait person and seated as requested. My favorite hot chocolate was waiting for me, along with hot coffee for my...
Wonderful! Loving! Delicious!
The weekend was one to remember for many at the TRadeWinds restaurant on Valentine's weekend. There was a great performance of love songs, excellent cocktails and delicious food. The entertainment was most entertaining and celebrated the day of love. Singers were local talents and even got a special treat from the host who only a few years...
Had a wonderful evening at tradewinds. Calvin M was the perfect host. All staff very attentive and courteous.
Tradewinds has an exceptional family friendly atmosphere . My daughter and I enjoyed the food and prompt service. Calvin and the staff assured that my daughter and I had a great experince. The local entertainment made the night spectacular . I look forward in hearing Bryan Arichbald and Rene in the future. We will visit again.
My Food was Great.I had the Pleasure of Dinning there.I always enjoy my food and stay. It's has a very relaxing atmosphere and a very beautiful view of the water of the Chesapeake Bay.I have stayed there a couple of times and each time was better. The Breakfast was Fantastic and Fulfilling.I always enjoy and I'm looking forward to my next visit.The...
Had a wonderfull time at treaewinds restaurant the seafood was excellent tne crab cake melted in your mouth and fish was very fresh. Live entertainment with new soon to be rising stars of the music industry Bryan Arichbald and Rene'e fraturing her songs from her new album "Remember".
1st time there and food was good. Excellent view. Shame not many people were there. Service was excell ent
Sunday brunch at Tradewinds has never disappointed. I have been going here for many years and the quality has never subsided.
Everything was great the food was excellent. We had a hard time finding the restaurant. There is no sign outside. When we finally found the place we had to asked in the Lobby again for directions. Recommend that you install sign and advertise more.
Allowed solicitors to approach table during dining time. Serving stations did not keep dining ware stocked. Some of the food selections were good and some were poor. Value for your dollar is poor. Will not return and would not recommend this Sunday Brunch.
We went back for our favorite dishes (she crab soup, oysters on the half shell, shrimp, seared tuna, eggs Benedict, and sushi) and to try some of the changing dishes. The chicken in the tarragon sauce was very good. The carving station was as good as ever. It was the first time someone in our group of 4 tried the omelet station, but it was wonderful too. The almond cheesecake was a refreshing...
When we ate here for brunch on Sunday... there were only 5 other tables, so everything should have been spot on. We hoped. The food was nicely displayed in the back corner of the large room. The carved meats looked great and there was a nice selection from salads, fruits, cheeses, an omelet …
We tried one of their "lite entree's" for dinner on this occasion. I must say it was a smaller plate but there was still plenty of food. We enjoyed the ribeye steak, which came with vegetables and roasted potatoes. They were both very delicious. We look forward to our next visit.
when you are paying $30 for sunday brunch, you expect deveined shrimp that is not overcooked! Also, last seating is at 2 pm so why when my party arrived at 1:30, does my made to order omelet come out of plastic bags?
This is the best brunch! They have the favorites each week and some dishes that change. It is an all-you-can-eat buffet with finely prepared food. Some of it is prepared as you request it.
The food wasn't all that great, nor did the Sunday Brunch have all that many options. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I probably would not go back. Nice view of the ocean though.
As simple as that: Good food. Nothing special. Something you expect to find in any seafood restaurant. Service was attentive but slow.
the Halibut was first-rate. One of our diners had a broiled seafood platter that was well prepared.prices are reasonable. The view is excellent.
Well, I liked it. Sunday brunch, with a group of friends celebrating our HS reunion. They happily accomodated us with a special table. The buffet was awesome and a good value for $27. Omelette station, sushi station, roast beef carving station, steamed shrimp, oysters on the half shell, smoked salmon, and the usual breakfast fare. The she-crab soup was good. The doughnut machine was a big hit....
Great view was the only thing going for this place. The service and food was horrible and not worth the 2 hours they made us wait during our time there waiting on food and service. Don't count on this place unless you want something to ruin your day.
Pretty, but . . .. After weeks of Sunday morning persuasions, I finally succumbed to Tradewind's Sunday Brunch. Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed by the ambiance of the place . . . particularly due to its setting on the beach and the huge glass window that allows you to look out across the water. The service started and ended well and the orange juice tasted fresh squeezed; though I...
Easter Brunch? Save your money! At $ 37 per person...what do you get? Red table clothes and no Easter decorations, dirty carpet, dirty walls... The buffet is so,so. We went with the family, including 2 kids...seating was surrounded by bus tables... I mean.. Are you seriously trying to run a resturant or some back alley soup kitchen next to a dumpster? People thus place could use a facelift, new...
Our first visit to VA Beach and we chose Tradewinds for dinner. We enjoyed the great view and service but the food was below average. My husband and I ordered their signature dish of stuffed shrimp served with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The potatoes were dry and tasteless and the shrimp overcooked. We mentioned this to our waitress when she asked if we wanted to take our food home with us...
Seating is also available at the inside bar area which also offers the water view.
Located inside the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel, this restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner to hotel residents and non-residents. The menus feature fish tacos, stuffed portobella and hateras clam chowder.
