If you are a fan of trains come here. The Amtrak runs by quite often. We had asked for some veggies that were not on the menu and they came through. Parking is next door. This was our second time here. Will return

Neat little place right on the railroad tracks in Ashland, Va. Interesting fact is the name does not come from the railroad it comes from the love of horse racing, according to the little bio on the menu. This is supported by the multitude of horse racing items hanging on the walls. This is not a fancy place but it...

Had the breakfast burger. Comes with fried egg, cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Bun was good. Home fries were ok. Got the onion rings as app. They were frozen. Next time I'll try the hot dogs. Is eat here again. Sweet tea was good for Virginia tea.

We stumbled upon the Trackside Grill expecting the usual 'out of the deep fryer' processed food that most pubs have. What a pleasant surprise! We arrived quite late - only 15 min before the kitchen closed. Nevertheless, the staff were warm and welcoming and we never felt rushed. After driving 12 hours, we were famished, but did need some time...

After eating at many places in the Ashland, VA area over the years, I decided to try the Trackside Grill.
Upon entering, I really liked the look-and-feel of this place. It is somewhat larger than it looks from the street but actually has a lot of room inside while maintaining an intimate feel.
I sat at the bar in the...

The Trackside Grill provides cozy comfort in booths or at tables, a sense of history, friendly servers, and delicious meals. There are tvs, tuned to sports, but other than that the Trackside Grill has an enjoyable atmosphere within a building that can leave one feeling like one has stepped back into the times when trains and locations near them were...

Got into town late. Staff Friendly. Restaurant clean (and bathroom - I judge kitchens from what bathrooms look like). Good good size portions and flavorful. Reasonable prices. Americana type of food (burgers, steak sandwiches, soups, standard appetizers as well as dinner entrees. Quite a few TVs (unfortunately all seemed to be football) but it wasn't obnoxious like most. Spacious.

We visit often and have favorites on the menu. The crabcakes are fantastic, cooked to perfection. My daughter always gets the club, and usually takes home half of her serving - huge sandwich. We've started coming here for weekend breakfasts and have not been disappointed. Fresh blueberry muffins!

Visited downtown Ashland with family from out of town for the Thanksgiving holidays and decided to stop in to the trackside grill for an early lunch with my mother and sister. The restaurant did not have many other tables occupied at the time we arrived although we never received our appetizer. When we received our lunch which just consisted of...

The food looks great and that's were it ends. Friendly service, food slow to come out during a slow Saturday lunch. Got an appetizer combo. Hot chicken wings were tough and muscley. Potato skins were pretty but dry and the cheese sticks had a weird aftertaste. My blues burger had super salty blue cheese dripping off a salty slice of Smithfield ham. I couldn't finish it, it was a sodium...

I don't go there too much. First time i was there had the worst service ever and considered never going back. But I'm glad i did. They make the best cheese burger I've ever had. So now when i go i mostly just want to get a burger.
