Visited Tio Pablo for the first time yesterday with my son and daughter in law. I have Celiac disease and was overjoyed to feel completely safe from gluten as I enjoyed a delicious meal! Every bite was absolutely divine!! Thank you!!!!

My best friend found and researched this place for my 30th birthday surprise dinner. She knows I have Celiac and I love Mexican. This place was amazing! I loved everything from the atmosphere to the food. Definitely recommend.

Totally. Awesome. Food. All gluten free. Hands down the best salsa I have ever eaten. I had the cheese chili relleno. I loved it. Hubby had the beef tongue tacos. So flavorful and tender! Yum! A...

The tacos were authentic as they come. As a matter of fact, the experience was as authentic as possible in Richmond, VA. Anyway, I had the Al Pastor tacos with the fried potatoes & peppers and the...

Awesomeness on a tortilla served with simplicity. And they have tequila, lots of tequila.

The tacos, crab, and lobster are amazing! The service provided was also great too. Definately recommend this place to all!

This place has high reviews, but they may be a bit outdated. Unless it's mainly a night spot, we walked in to an empty restaurant. I ordered the plate (like a sampler) with a tostada with carnitas...

Went here with my wife for dinner and got a full plate with a carnitas tostada and a Chipotle pollo taco. Service was fast and food was fresh and amazing. The tortilla was made that day and I wish...

Love love love this place. The people who work here are really friendly, talkative and welcoming. This is the kind of place that I'd gladly and comfortably eat at solo. The food is generally...

The offerings are as-expected for a Mexican joint- tacos, tostadas, lunch/dinner plates, quesadillas and more, the fare is simple and can be customized with a variety of meat options. As I tried to gather my thoughts and determine what to order, the waitress put a basket of freshly made tortilla chips in front of us and all thoughts of the menu melted away.

I will finish this later but this place is my favorite spot in Richmond for a lot if reasons.

My favorite mexican place I've ever been to!The food is more traditionally than most people are probably used to.So there aren't the standbys of things like cheese dip. The tacos are consistently good and very reasonably priced. The margaritas are small in size, but tasty and very strong. They are made with …

Cozy cute place with great service. The food is some of the best, most authentic Mexican food I've had. So fun to have a jarritos mandarin and tacos...so many good memories from my childhood in San Anotnio.Excellent.

I've had the chance to eat at Tio Pablo several times now and I agree with those that say it is the best Taqueria in Richmond. Pay attention to the specials. They are often the best items available. For example, the tamales are amazing when they have them and the fish tacos are delicious. The tacos and sides are …

Reminds me very much of a restaurant in Mexico. Good authentic dishes. Small portions but more then enough to leave you satisfied. Will return.

As someone who lives with Celiac, going to Tio Pablo’s was refreshing. Their entire menu was gluten free and they catered to my other allergies as well. It was a nice change to be able to order anything off the menu without having to worry about getting sick.
They carry a legitimate gluten free beer on their menu that I...

I had the carnitas, and they were superb. They were braised to tender perfection. One of my companions ordered chile rellenos, and she was pleased as well.

Carne Asada was out of this world, but side portions are TINY. $3 for about 5 charro beans and 1/4 c liquid is no bueno. Spent $30 and hubby was still hungry.

Finally a plate that has/makes their own tortillas. The al pastor and lengua are made to perfection. Enjoy this place for you authentic mexican/taqueria. Now you should get 3 tacos for the price but hey were in VA and it is a hipsiter place. Go for the food and pay the price it is worth it!!!.

YUM!. Decided to check this place out after happy hour on a Friday night. I ordered the carne asada tostados and my fiance ordered the carnitas tostados and then we switched one so we could try both. Both were delicious but I preferred the carnitas. This place definitely help up to it's hype. Don't expect to get your own table when you come though, tables are limited but you can at least grab a...

We saw Tio Pablo In this Month's Richmond magazine article, best new restaurants. I was expecting a bit more upscale but there were nice positives. We were offered Margaritas right away. They were really good. We gots tortilla chips and salsa delivered to us, both were freshly made. Three of us had taco plates, two tacos and two sides. You...

So we finally made it to the mexican restaurant I have been dying to try because the owner has a nice long-time Richmond restaurant, and I heard it was authentic upscale Mexican Food. Having traveled a lot in Central Mexico, I was so excited for an upscale (non Tex-Mex) mexican place. It is surprisingly hard to find anywhere but Mexico....

Gluten Free review

I'm gluten free so I was very excited to find a restaurant that is ALL gluten free! But, the food was just OK. I tried food from everyone's plate and we ordered each of the three desserts they had that night. Between the 4 of us, I tried several sides. I also had a Margarita. Wouldn't order one the next...

Inside, I found the decor whimsical, quirky, and also industrial. By the bar, a dismembered baby doll rests on top of longhorns and Day of the Dead-like masks dot the wall above the kitchen window. Corrugated lines parts of walls and the place still holds true to its original space with exposed brick walls. It’s almost like Frida Kahlo gave modern design a whirl. In the middle of the small...

Great little space turned into a fabulous authentic mexican taco stand! So delicious and the ham and beans with jalepenos was unbelievable! Everything was so fresh! I was sad tha the cactus wasn't available when we were there. Check it out! You won't be disappointed.

Best Mexican in Richmond, and the menu is entirely gluten free

This place has hands down the best Mexican food in Richmond. None of those cheese sauce covered giant burritos here; its authentic tacos, tostadas and chalupas. I've been here 3 or 4 times now, and although service can be a tad slow at times, the food more than makes up for it. Their pork based tacos are awesome (carnitas, the...

Pork and Pineapple Tacos--Awesome

Salsa is totally fresh and chips are homemade and warm. The pork and pineapple tacos are amazing. The servers are friendly and the prices are great. I'm so glad this place opened and is within walking distance from my house--I've been three times in the past month. The only complaint I have is that the bar stools along the wall...

Great for vegetarians!. Until now, I've never been happy with any of the Mexican restaurants in Richmond. Part of that is due to the fact we eat veggie (cheese, dairy, eggs, ok). This place fed us really well--and the food is not "tex-mex". It's lighter on the oils and the ingredients taste fresh--not canned. The food/drinks are the star here--don't expect fancy flat ware or dishes. Seating is...
