After an earlier humiliating visit to La Marinella, I was invited by the owner to give it another try. She had sent me a card redeemable for two free entrees, and asked me to let her know when we wanted to visit again. I called to let her know, but she was away for the weekend. Still, I took my wife out to dinner here, expecting a great dining experience. I gave the waiter our gift card, and we placed our orders. While we were enjoying our salads, the waiter returned to tell me that I could not order one of the specials of the day, but had to order an "a la carte" (?) entree. I was stunned! The card stated no such restriction.
Had I not been so hungry, I would have told him we would pay for our salads and leave. This was the second time in a row that the management of this restaurant have embarrassed me in front of my wife. Regardless of how polite the waiter was (and he was) or how delicious the food was (yes, it was) our dining experience was destroyed. There won't be a third time!

I've been eating the owners' previous pizzeria for years. Seeing that the food there is always amazing I decided to try La Marinella last week for some Lobster Ravioli. I couldn't even taste the Lobster in my dish!! They ravioli was still cold in the middle & the sauce was pretty bland as well. I ordered a house wine (very cheap) and was charged almost $10 for a glass. If you like glitzy atmospheres with sub-parfood that breaks the bank, then you will love this place.

The decor is tasteful and the setting of the restaurant is delightful. The menu is easy to read, prices are mostly within reason, and service was attentive. The appetizer of focaccia bread was excellent...fresh and hot from the pizza oven. Our table chose a variety of items from the menu...lunch as well as dinner. The panini's were hot and wrapped with deli paper. The side of potato chips seemed a little uninspired for an ambitious restaurant. The chicken marsala and chicken parm were good. The one tiramisu we ordered was big enough to feed everyone at our table of three! The only real puzzle of the pleasant lunch was having the chef meet us at the door in a dirty apron to seat us!! La Marinella makes for pleasant dining in VB. Our minor complaints could be easily addressed. We'll go back!
