Feeling formal? Sit in the dining room. I like The Tavern, because you get both menus. My favorite is the salmon over spinach (Hammond Salmon?) from the dining room menu.

Recommend reservations, even for the pub area. The Inn has been around a long time, supported by a local family and the preservation guild. The Inn also houses several marvelous "theme" suites above the restaurant.

My wife and I usually come here for a "Date Night". t's fairly quiet and the food and drinks never disappoint! Nice cozy place with a dstictive charm and a great atmosphere. There's also a very nice outdoor dining area that is awesome on nice evenings!

Nice Place. The Smithfield Inn is a nice place to dine. I prefer dining outside or in the Rand Tavern bar area. I'm not fond of the remodel job but I don't work for Southern Living so what do I know. Music on Saturday evenings is nice. The food is pretty good (I've never had bad) but I also enjoy eaves dropping on blue hairs to hear them complain about this and that (mostly the crab dip?).
