Best Seafood Experience ever!

Surprised by the quality. Real linens, no paper. Everything cooked from fresh. The chef is a talented baker who served us 4 different breads including a warm rum bread that was intoxicating just as we were seated. The host was attentive, our server was polite and gracious, and all the food was lovingly prepared by a chef.

The absolute best service in Hampton Roads. Our waiter was attentive without being obtrusive. The seafood was outstanding. This is the only restaurant in the area that can compete with the finer establishments in NYC.

Excellent atmosphere, outstanding service. My wife had Mexican Stuffed Shrimp and I had Sea and Shore (Steak and stuffed shrimp). Not crazy about the steak. It was cooked to my liking however cooking technique not desired, it was charred on outside. Go for seafood. Great dining experience. I would recommend to anyone.

Editorial reviews from the web (1)

Here in one of the area's few places for "fine dining," the waiters are tuxedo-clad, the tablecloths crisp linen. The menu's offerings resemble those available on a luxury cruise ship. Rum buns begin the meal, where the highlights include enormous crab cakes and filet mignon topped with crabmeat and rich béarnaise sauce. Order one of the showy flambé desserts, which are prepared table-side.

The two of us enjoyed our dinner which was elegantly served by James. The seafood was excellent and the atmosphere was very gracious. Servings were good size, so we took our desert home with us for a midnight snack! Dessert was wonderful.

We were looking for fresh seafood, well prepared -- and hit the jackpot here. Anna, our server, is wonderful. The house Cabernet was very nice. Order an Irish Coffee after dinner. It is prepared at your table in a unique manner.

This place is a disaster. The atmosphere is terrible . Looks like some weird little mermaid decor with its tacky blue vinyl booths. Reminded us of a diner. Menu items are overpriced. Staff is uninformed. Our waitress couldn’t answer a single question about the menu....

The service wasn't good. The food wasn't good and it came out cold. We had to keep ask for water. The steak was cooked as we ask and it was burn. I was very disappointed with this place. I always drove by and was excited to go have dinner here but it wasn't what I expected.

The Seafare Restaurant of Williamsburg is a very nice restaurant offering fine dining. I selected this restaurant for a special occasion based on a menu offering. the restaurant did not disappoint. The only downside was the spotty service. After finishing our meal it took a very long time to get the check. Our server had to deliver a special order to the nearby hotel and was pretty late in...

The food was tasty, but service was excruciatingly slow. We were seated right away, but then it Took about 10 minutes to get our menu. Then our drinks took over 20 minutes to get them and I had to harass the server for them. My wife's drink had salt dumped in it, so the last half was extremely sour and not the best. While the server covered the second drink, that one took a long time to receive...

After a mix up with the group's reservation (the group's fault NOT the restaurant's), management did its very best to accommodate twice as many people as we originally thought would attend. Find it disturbing that wine by the glass is not an option. You have to purchase a bottle, most of which are highly overpriced. When the wine did show up in the "chilled stand," it was lukewarm. Requested it be chilled and some 10 or so minutes later, it was returned, minimally cool. Cannot say the experience was worth the considerable dollars spent.

Very nice meal. Excellent crab imperial. My wife had snapper topped with lump crab meat, which was also very good. Unlike most restaurants that overcharge for wine, all of the wine on their list is very reasonably priced. $15 for a bottle of Vigionier that would cost 30 in most restaurants.
