A group of us were looking for a place for lunch when we happened to hear about The Sandbar. The sandwiches were outstanding as were the sweet potato fries. They served the sweet potato fries with applebutter which is something I have never had - wonderful applebutter. Excellent waitress.

This place is great. Had the crab cake and BBQ. Sweet potato fries. So yummy. Beautiful location! Best fine dining in Tappahannock hands down.

My family lives in the area and we have gone to the previous location Hobbs Hole Restarant, which was ok. But the new chef at the Sandbar doesn't cut it at all. I've had nothing but great food and good service whenever I've walked for the past year. Staff is very friendly and it's accessible from the golf course.

Intimate Setting, Tasty Food, Great Service

The Sandbar is a local secret. Not too many people know about his place because its located at Hobbs Hole (Golf Club). Many people don't come unless members, but the restaurant is open to the public. I have to say I was impressed with the food and service. Best in this small town.

We celebrated Valentine's Day with two other couples at The Sandbar Restaurant. Our meals (lobster tails and steaks) were served hot and delicious, and the service was good, even with a very crowded dining room. Would definitely return!

We have been here several times. Love the food and very romantic atmosphere. When its warm, it's nice to sit outside by the golf course and eat and when its cold it's very cozy inside. Service is great and crab cakes are delicious!

I have dined here many times and it is always a nice experience. Went on Sunday and it was so nice outside we sat on the patio overlooking the golf course. Fast and friendly service as well as a delicious brunch including Bloody Mary's and Mimosas.

Good Food, BUT GO EASY on the SALT..too much sea salt on the Baked Potato and soft shell crab coating was little too salty.Nice Atmosphere.

Service at the Sandbar was great, we had the broiled seafood platter and the barbeque platter, scallops were very tender, crab cake was full of crab very little filling, Ribs were tender and fell off the bone, pulled pork was taken home for a great sandwich.
