It is a music-lover's fantasy land. We have a state-of-the-art V-DOSC sound system, only the fifth installed in the country and only the second installed on the East Coast (what this means to the uninitiated is that our sound system is bigger, better and clearer than anywhere else). We have a 36X24X4.5 ft. stage with 30' of clearance for hanging sound and lights systems. You will have a great...

A 1920s movie palace has transformed into a tri-level, all-ages concert venue attracting national acts to its stage.
Standing room only but still a great venue with a good variety of musical artists that perform here. The sound equipment is superb and you can pretty much get a good view of the stage from...
Chuck , Rocky and crew always handle things very professional , but also have a great repertoire with the bands! Love playing there , always a pleasure!
Just what Hampton roads needs. It's definitely fills our musical fix
I think it's ridiculous that a concert venue doesn't sell tickets to a show until the doors open the night of the show. if you want tickets, you have to go to the restaurant behind the venue to buy them-- and there's an additional $2 fee, because you couldn't buy them at the norva in the first place. and God forbid you buy them from @ticketmaster because two (2) $20 tickets comes to a grand...
Great venue- staff is very attentive and know how to have metal shows
If I could give it 0 stars I would. They don't do any type of bag or security checks. People were openly smoking weed. After 2 hours and still no artist, we left.
Nice
Great music venue, but the quality of bands has been lacking since the NorVa was ranked best small concert venue. Stop with the cover bands like the Legwarmers and line up more original/local bands.
Saw American Sharks, Lionize and Clutch here last September. No complaints here!
Terrible customer service & manners. Their "care about people" meter is very low.

I love performing at this venue great people who work there
Great venue. Take advantage of the early entry if you eat at FM prior to the show. Guarantees a great view.
Dirty Heads rocked The NorVA! One of the best shows I've ever been to!!
Act like an A-hole... get kicked out. I've been to 3 shows here. I've seen several people who should have been kicked out and security corrected them. They gotta keep things right. Never had problem. Great place to see bands... otherwise I would have taken my 14 year old son.
Not too big, not too small. Just the right kind of size to see the artist(s) that you really wanna see! I love it! :-)
Awesome, intimate venue! Every show is better than the next!
Love the NorVA!! We've seen so many great shows here!! It's a great size venue, big enough for variety of venues, but small enough to have a perfect view sitting or standing anywhere!! I've moved away, but I'd make time to see a show here if I'm anywhere close!!
Awesome experience
I have seen some of my favorite shows here
Im from Ohio and we came down to see Seether...very good location. Pro tip: park at the mall and walk over, North parking garage ;). We went to the second balcony and watched the show..great vantage point. I was worried about moshpits and all that crap, im almost thirty..i love rock music, but im no longer 20 :). The security at NorVa was top notch, broke up anyone getting rowdy and causing...
An amazing hall with great people and great staff.
My home away from home for many years! Great atmosphere, staff and excellent shows!!
Worst place i have ever been. I have been to brawls that were less dangerous than this place. And the staff and management suck.I will be contacting my lawyer about my broke finger and back after I go to my doctor. I think running off a bridge in my truck would be dafer than going to this shit hole
Love the dope atmosphere. Every time I've been there its been a blow out. Seen Twiztid, Hed Pe, and potluck there. It was sick show. Bout to see Tech VIP on the 26th. I know it will be a great experience because this the best venue in the seven cities!!!!!!!! - Michael Vazquez

Worst place ever! Got punched kicked Security and management did nothing! Let the people continue to fight and shove they said they were 'dancing' That's not what I call dancing! Don't take children for sure and be ready to defend yourself because the security doesn't!
I'm not from the area, but this was a great venue! Smaller place, good lighting, and the acoustics were really good. Drinks are a little more expensive than I'm used to (starts at $7 a beer) but the service was good. I'd definitely go back!

I love doing business with this venue! Thanks for acknowledging the indie artists!
Over half the concerts I've been to have been here, just love the venue and everything about it
My favorite place to be. Good quality, good music, good people.
I have never been here...EVER! Been to State passing through many times but never to the place!
One of my favorite venues and it's only a mile from my house. Always has great music and the staff is great as well. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Its a great venue ! I have no complains , they have treated me great and security is very respectful .

Favorite venue of all time. Downside is there is a few seats upstairs but who really wants to sit down at a concert?
PLEASE bring St Paul and The Broken Bones to Hampton Roads!
I attended for the 2nd time yesterday. I love the intimate setting the Norva offers, it's just a fun place. However, seriously, it was way too cold in that building last night. When all the performers complain as well, you know it's true. It was FREEZING!
I've seen concert all over VA, and this is by far my favorite venue. It's small, dark, cramped with tons of dirty, smelly people, and median priced drinks. What more could you ask! I believe at one point it was rated top in the state and possibly in the top five of the country. Definitely trumps the National, it's sister...
I forgot my ticket printout so I called ahead to make sure they could just scan the ticket on my phone. The lady at the box office ignored what I was asking and proceeded to recite Ticketmaster rules at me then hang up. So Instead of enjoying dinner with my friends, I had to run up and down the street...
I was staying in downtown Norfolk for a few nights. Need to get out of the hotel. Decided to see some live music. The night I went was a band called The Washed Out. The venue I'm guessing it use to be a movie theater. There are no seats a few tables in the back. sound was very good. bar...
We went to see Ben Folds 7 years ago and loved the intimate feel of this vintage venue so we trekked back last week, from WV, to see 3 Doors Down Unplugged. WOW! We had dinner at FM Restaurant adjacent to The Norva which allowed us early entry into the concert hall. This gave us first pick of the limited...
I've been seeing shows at the NorVa for 15 years and love it. Only wish they were getting as many good bands playing as they used to.
Went to see Flogging Molly with my husband ... Acoustics were JUST OK. Crowd was rude, pushing their way in front of you, stepping on your feet, etc ... Worst part was the plumbing that was leaking on us during the concert ... It was disgusting. We won't be returning no matter who is there.
For the audience there are excellent sight lines, state-of-the-art sound, and top-notch lighting. Not really a bad spot in the house.
For the performers, there are a steam room, full-size dressing rooms, a whirlpool...among the best backstages in the country.
A winner all around.
I wanted to see Ingrid Michaelson and had no prior knowledge about the NorVa. However, I looked it up online and saw that it was listed in Rolling Stone as the best concert venue in the US, so my expectations were high going in. Leaving, I was not disappointed at all. They serve food and drinks at the Norva, which...
Have seen several concerts here from small to big name acts. The sound is very good. Stage is pretty small. VIP section upstairs overlooks the stage on the sides. Often there are skip the line deals by eating at the restaurant attached.
The venue is nearly perfect...to me at least. It's small n cozy feeling. It's very accessible--park at macarthur's north deck, and it's across the street! People often come offensively late, so I'm???

The Norva hosts tons of local and national music acts, and we're proud to have them here in Norfolk. The club brings tons of great artists ...
Small and intimate, any spot is a good spot. The sound is great, and many top notch acts come through here. Like any concert venue, the drinks are going to be pricey, but drinks here will leave you in the poor house, so stick to beers. If you eat at the Backstage Cafe before the show, you can enter an hour earlier than everyone else, and if your tickets are will call, the Backstage Cafe staff will pick them up at the box office while you eat. Park in the mall parking garage.
